Really important story in France:
"Gisèle Pelicot, the French woman whose former husband is on trial for drugging and raping her when they were married, and inviting dozens of other men to rape her, took the stand in court on Wednesday.
She told the court in Avignon she wants women who have been raped to know that "it's not for us to have shame - it's for them".
"I want all women who have been raped to say: Madame Pelicot did it, I can too. I don't want them to be ashamed any longer," she said, referring to her request for an open trial and for the videos of the alleged rapes to be shown."
Such strength of character and resilience.
I hope she wins the case and inspires others to speak out and turn the shame back on the rapists.Comment

I've been watching this from the very start and I've been gobsmacked by this story and her utter determination to do what she is doing, completely in awe of her.
The whole business made me think of Grisham, I have every single novel he has written, only one penned by him is a non-fiction called The Innocent Man, there are clips of him on YouTube on daytime TV in America doing the promotional tour and he gets asked why not write a fiction novel based on the story, he replied that if he did it would be a flop because it would be completely unbelievable - even though the story is 100% true.
This is the same, if Gisèle's story didn't exist and some Hollywood producer made a film about the same subject matter I'm sure it would be panned by the critics and die at the box office.Comment

- Openly criticising US military support of Ukraine and then supporting Trump's Presidential re-election bid.
- Putin once asked the entrepreneur to avoid activating his Starlink satellite internet service over Taiwan as a favor to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
- Took away his inital free use of Starling from the Ukraine.
- Actively restricted drone use with Starlink in the Ukraine.
- Started tweeting the Kremlin's plan for "peace".
