My missus still watches The Kardashians for some reason. Even if you buy into the allure of the show it's now around 23 seasons in and is a very poor pastiche of its former self. It used to be clearly set up but still presented somewhat as a window into their lives whereas now it's outright a marketing advert with nearly all them now freakishly warped versions of their prior selves. There was a particular scene I caught that grated me more than the show usually does though.

    This isn't a 1:1 quote but it's incredibly close:

"I've always been very self-confident, despite what people think. When I was younger I was always confident in my looks and body and despite rumours of having had a lot of work done such as surgery, I've actually only had a couple of fillers"

    That's Kylie Jenner

I'm hard pressed to believe that she's a consistent world class actor who spent a decade portraying the false image of being a clearly self-conscious youngest daughter who was considered not attractive enough to follow her closest sister who was able to pursue a successful modelling career with a reliance on a natural look and was also the product of a broken home governed largely by mother who fosters toxic relationships with men and the valuation on her daughters via their value as dollared commodities. So it makes it grating by default to instead believe that there was no act and she simply carries such a low view and distain for the audience that grants her her piggybacked fame, judging them too feeble of mind to rely on their mere eyesight to know the clear line of BS she is spouting.

I always thought they were the best villains. Especially in Deep Space Nine.

I think the only genuine moment I can recall on it was a time when Kim's daughter asked her, being famous, what her talent was and she was stumped

My suitcase has irked me. First the TSA lock just straight up broke and refused to lock, then one of the wheels cracked so it frequently steers at random, then in a spectacular display of petulance, both of the zips came off the fabric bit that divides the internals in half, so I had to borrow scissors from a hotel bar to cut it to bits just so I could reach my luggage.

On a less personal / more relatable note, not a huge fan of this trend of plastic bottles attaching the lid in a way that you can't fully remove it. Recycling is a noble enough cause, but are people so widely unaware that the lid was also plastic and able to be recycled?

            What a palava!

One of our cases combination locks gave up a few years ago, luckily on the inbound so at least I could try and tackle it at home instead of on holiday.
In the end I found a way to open it via YouTube, one of the wheels had slipped when I closed it so the combination was now one digit out.

I solved any future problems by buying some TSA keys.

Shower and shampoo bottles annoy me. The dregs. Not quite enough to squeeze out into a useable volume, but it’s too much of a mission to have to do the epic multi-rinse for the recycling, so they just sit there in the shelf near the bath, upside down, leering at me. A future chore.

A like just for the use of "palava"! Next time, to ease your frustration try a pavlova, instead!

ive never ever seen the type of bottle cap you're the n about but I reckon it ts more about stopping scum from just throwing them on to the ground.

Just undo the bottle lid, then rotate it around until the plastic connecting it to the bottle twists and snaps off.

I tried that, but got annoyed and the snap left a git big jagged spike of plastic jutting out, trying to impale me every time I went for a guzzle.

100% in on that one, noticed on the big 2ltr bottles. One second not paying attention to which specific way you're holding the bottle and suddenly you're flooding the floor in cola. Utterly dumb idea, if you're not recycling the cap you're near certainly not recycling the whole bottle. If anything, now they're using more plastic to attach the caps.

It's because until relatively recently, the bottle-tops were made of a different material and couldn't be recycled - you were meant to remove them before throwing the bottles in the recycle bin. Changes have meant this is no longer the case, but many people (myself included) were still throwing them away based on this older information.

All drinks taste better from a glass bottle. It's because unlike cans or plastic bottles, there's no chemical lining on the inside of a glass bottle.

                                Please don't eat the bottles.
