It's longer but narrower so i'm gonna have to get creative with how i lay my room out but hell no lol those shelves are coming with me i need that thrill of them above my bed not knowing if the wall is gonna hold out. This time added thrill as it's plasterboard walls not solid concrete like here but i need to maximise every wall so i can use them above bed in corner but not for super heavy stuff i guess. Maybe for those bulky special edition switch game boxes and the like.

It will be fun to finally get everything onto shelves and cram as many led lights into that space as possible, if it doesn't look like a christmas tree by the time i'm done i'm not trying even the bed is getting under lighting this time lol

What are those called? I've been looking at mounting a Master Sword on the wall.

I'm selling my old AVR-7200WA on a local and very well-knonw website, and in less than 24 hours I received four inquiries.
Three of them were "hey, what can we do about the price" (a very common way for Swiss to haggle).
I was selling with for 350 CHF, so I replied "yes, I can adjust the price to what you usually find it used, let's make 1200 Francs". Haven't heard from them anymore, and happily sold the amplifier for the advertised price to the fourth guy....who is planning to use it as a spare part collection for the amplifier he already has. Oh well.

It's crazier on Facebook marketplace. Minutes after posting a listing you can guarantee receiving bot messages offering to send their brother / uncle / dog round the next day but will secure payment by sending bank transfer, then asking for address, bank details, phone number and email address, claiming they are all needed for the bank transfer to work. Muppets. Or the older scam of "I know it's collect only but I'll pay for a courier. All you have to do is send £3 to cover the insurance" (£3 gone forever)

Ha. I’m now 1 year into an extension & new kitchen, which I got knocked by the original builder on for over 14k. I’ve had to re fund it and do all of his jobs over as they weren’t up to code. Seeing as we have a baby it couldn’t just be left either until we had more time later on.

Its only just coming to an end building wise, I just need to finish the skirting, stain a doorway, plynths on the bottom of the cabinets, then touch up painting, and it’s finally, finally over with.

Fun fact, by law they are completely unaccountable for loosing your parcel and have no legal responsibility to reimburse you. I don’t have the date they managed to get this passed but some MP clearly owned one of the big boys at one stage and got this little ditty passed into law.

Last year, I moved to a smaller town in Ireland and, since then, my courier experience has changed dramatically. Most times now, they’ll actually call me about half hour before they arrive and ask if I’ll be there and what I’d like them to do with the package. Wasn’t like that in Dublin.

My business is pretty dependent on them for my beer supply from the 50+ breweries we deal with. I can say without hesitation that none of them are reliable. My heart sinks every time I see my shipment notification come through and it's via APC in particular though, I've lost count of how much of my beer they've smashed.

Weird irk, but that National Express is the UK's only national coach service.

That probably needs a bit of explaining. Firstly, it's true; it's the only one. There's also Megabus, but they don't operate to anywhere near as many places; they tend to only go from major cities serving London, or to airports; you can't use them for most journeys outside of that.

Secondly, it's kinda related to my usual anger of rail privatisation. To go and see our parents at Christmas it's going to cost near £380 for the return rail tickets (it's nearly £100 each way, per-person).

I had thought I'd look at alternatives to either economise or improve things. But flights aren't an option; the airports at the start/end of the trip are too far out the way, and they come up to £500 (though the journey time is really short), so when you add getting to and fro to the airports, that eats into the money and time and you're spending twice as much to save maybe 2hrs.

Then, if you're taking coach, the only choice is National Express. There are no others. You'd think there'd be a few options, but no.

So you look up the trains, and despite us living in our Tory utopia of privatised trains run for the free market... There's a ticket price. Just a straight-up price. There aren't multiple providers, or multiple lines, or whatever. It just costs this much. But with the added benefit of being a ****ing mess to book because apparently there are different providers and I can't just buy a train ticket off National Rail.

Privatisation really did just line the pockets of a load of now-rich people, didn't it? Gimme a minute to go piss on Thatcher's grave.
