I'm not sure it matters - looking at the latest polling breakdown, at least in some polls, Reform is leading the Tory vote now. Amoungst the "lower tier" educated, they are miles ahead.

In fact, if we had PR it'd not be that far off of Tory/Reform having a majority with a coalition. And if it were only the C2->Es voting, they'd be miles ahead of Labour.

If there were a general election held tomorrow, which party would you vote for?

    Still want PR?

Tbh I don't think it's that ridiculous. Not going to happen this election but in my line of work I speak to people everyday, and Reform are the only party people are talking about with regards to voting.

^ I agree. I don't think it's ridiculous either. We've cultivated mass stupidity and bigotry to such a degree in this country that I think it's eminently plausible.

You'd definitely need to be left of the bell curve to think that Reform and Farage would be a net positive for the UK's prosperity.

Just stick him on a plane with trumple, Putin & Kimmy, it can then disappear into the Mariana Trench and they can all be happy together in their twisted psychotic fantasies.

It's a tricky one, in regard to the current election I don't think Reform have enough of a base yet. It feels like all they're going to accomplish is diminishing the support for the Tories even further by stealing all the racists sun reader knuckle draggers who would never vote for someone like Sunak. I'd be worried about them in four years time when the current labour government delivers nothing but stabilisation and has nothing headline grabbing to show for 4 years in power.

Reform sent my girlfriend an election flyer in the post yesterday… She’s an EU citizen. Even if she hadn’t been robbed of her right to vote, her politics absolutely aren’t far-right.

2-3 years from now the Tories will have got the madness out of their system and they'll reboot as centre right, a position that Reform can't take despite their claims because of their rampant racism. At that point the party will lose its base back to the Tories and become another burn out until Farage launches yet another rebrand kneejerk new party. Farage is just an opportunistic egotistical Tory trying to sell himself as a new product and most people are already burned out on that sales pitch.

Tories are to send out letters signed by Johnson in an effort to win votes back - yes, Mr Let Them Die in the Streets will win favour!

Had a look at the Reform manifesto out of curiosity. Authoritarian neoliberalism, well to the right of the Tories, but filled with “foreigners are responsible” scapegoating, and plenty of outright lies about how foreigners have automatic preferential treatment by public services.o

edit: also anti-vaxx and anti-“globalist” rantings. Plus they want to replace the NHS with health insurance.

I'm not voting for Starmer's wife. I'm not even voting for Starmer, it's Labour's policies that have to win us over!

Hate how Reform won't get the same scrutiny as the other parties and if they are challenged, they just shout louder.
They're aiming for saying they're the people's party, but favour scrapping inheritance tax for toffs and privatising the NHS.

If we don't get a handle on the amount of corruption and fraud going on in our current political system, then yeah, that's a real possibility. We need a system in place where If you're found to be using your position to generate money for yourself or your family at the detriment of the people you're elected to represent, then you should face Fraud charges similar to insider trading.

The charges should be much more serious and carry a heavier sentencing I'd say.
