Downing Street says legislation will make clear ‘Rwanda is safe’ and will address court’s concerns after policy ruled unlawful
Despite the fireworks, recent polling suggests that Labour has only lost three points of intended voting and the gap between them and the Tories has only narrowed by one as the blues have also lost another two points themselves as a small number switch to supporting far right racist group Reform.

Starmer facing more frontbench resignations if Gaza policy does not change | Labour | The Guardian
The vote came and went but some Labour MP's still won't drop the ceasefire semantics argument and are still pushing Starmar to change position for the party. They really need to sort themselves out over this, if they expect to be in power for the coming half decade they need to address situations as they are rather than how they wish them to be.

‘His days as a Labour MP are over’: Starmer condemns Corbyn’s Hamas stance | Jeremy Corbyn | The Guardian
This - This right here cements why Labour with Corbyn was a dead concept. Corbyn repeatedly refuses to acknowledge Hamas as a terrorist organisation leading to Starmer to reaffirm that there is no route back for the former party leader

I do find it difficult how some subtlety in a clearly muddy good vs evil war, equates to "Corbyn was a dead concept" where the current Labour leader won't even agree to call for a ceasefire where Hospital patients are bing turfed out and people are vanishing from their homes.
Astonishing double standards and behaviour, from all ****ing sides.

The problem is, at least in my eyes, that no decision will actually go down in agreement with everyone in the party. Call for a ceasefire? I'm sure there'd be some who'd resign for that stance saying Israel shouldn't even be allowing the pauses as it gives Hamas time to regroup and escape.Lie with passion and be forever damned...

Labour are the opposition and should help critique and influence policy. So of course they should have policy for all major UK and world decisions. If they didn't, they might as well not be in opposition.

Labour's MP's go stupid with the opposition stance sometimes and feels like this is one of those occasions. It's important that they hold the Government to scrutiny but it's pointless for them to oppose for the sake of opposition which some of them seem to deep dive on. Taking the stance of there must be a ceasefire won't make one happen, it's a moot position because if you ask any government (bar Hamas) what they want they'd say they want one too. Labour has to approach situations from the perspective of what they would do in power.
It just leaves the party with less MP's with the values the MP's claim the party needs. It comes down the questiont that seems to go unanswered by pro-ceasefire MP's all too often. In the absence of the unrealistic ceasefire, what would they call for next? Because when they're in power they will have to answer this. If it's for breaks in the fighting to allow civilians to escape and aid to get in as well as for a harder push on Israel to minimise civilian casualities then they need to climb off their soap boxes and focus on the job rather than semantics.
