Yeah summer in Japan is just vicious isnt it?

still, it beats hanging around the UK with its drizzle and dullards a plenty

          Excellent news Jushin \o/

If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about looking/applying for a computing job in Japan. I'm signed up to do a TESOL course after my degree in the hope to make me more employable for an english teaching program, but I would prefer to get a job on the merits of my degree (computer science), rather than for purely being a native english speaker. Don't really know where to start, and my university careers service arn't very helpful

Does anyone know how heating tends to be in budget-range hotels in Tokyo in winter? Would bringing a small heater along be a good idea? From Canada so no voltage issues. TY ^_^

Sorry to hear that... How'd it fall through? Presumably they wanted you out there for an interview? Looking for work out there is a bold step, do you speak the language?

No, it was all sorted over here by michaelpage associates, interview was in London. Japanese was not needed for the role (I got the impression they really didnt want a Japanese speaker) It was for a large bank in Tokyo with a Win2003 domain that needed support/disaster recovery etc, just my expertise really

Aparently they decided to outsource all IT suport to http://www.simplexsol.com/ who i am now desperatly tring to get in contact with.

I could taste that sweet Japanese p***y, once again. That is whats pissing me off the most, not the job;-)

                          Priorities, eh?

Anyone got advice on booking flights?

Been watching the prices the last 3-4 months for going in March next year (MAN to KIX) and they've pretty much stayed the same - ?530 ish on Expedia.

Should I wait it out or is there a risk they could go up? When are they likely to go up?

                            Comment

I assume they will rise in late April during the 'Golden Week' holidays, so it's probably best to go in March, though the weather will still be a bit chilly.
