This reminds me of a visit to a bakery I made in Shinjuku. Fancied a snack, something with chocolate in and noticed rows upon on rows of what looked like chocolate muffins. I bought one only to find it was weird bean flavour, no chocolate to speak of

Same with BB Continuum Shift. But I got my revenge by winning two Valkrya Chronicles figures with one coin at their UFO catchers

Could never understand how people could eat things from UFO catchers or vending machines with hot food...

You lot must have iron ears. Or more likely I'm just a bit of a pansy. I've never really liked loud noise, so when I'm forced into it it's that much worse, but I understand the idea of wanting to hear all the machines going bananas.

I like to believe it's like that because that they set the volume for one machine, then the next one got drowned out so they turned that one up, but then of course the next one got drowned out, so...

Like that bit in Father Ted where he tries to hammer out a tiny dent in the car:

Nah, it was a new Kit-Kat. They only launched a couple of days before we went to that arcade.

I pretty much know what clothes I'm taking with me and most of it is clean but there's an ominous pile of ironing in the spare room that looks at me every time I go in there that I am going to have to clear before I finish my packing.

You folks in Tokyo at the moment, what's the weather like?

The weather app on my iPhone says it's in the 20s with cloud and Friday is due to have brilliant sunshine with a high of 24.

I ask as I've packed but if it's humid and nasty I'm goin to have to change most of the clothing I'm bringing.

High humidity is great, much better than the lip-splitting dryness here in Canada.

Not in Tokyo myself, but in Osaka it's just about right for me at the moment. Like a very hot summer day back in the UK, but nothing like the "sweaty-death" of July/August.

Although, if the return of the volcanic ash cloud is anything to go by, I may not be going at all!!

Talking about weather, a question way ahead of its time: in a coup,e of years I'm already planning to get back to Japan, with Osaka as one of the places to visit, then crawl back to Tokyo visiting other places along the road.
How's the weather in mid-September for the region?

                    Comment

Mid-September should be just at the end of the worst summer heat. It'll still be pretty humid though.

Sorry to hear this about the airport. Stupid really is the ash really that bad?

                          Comment

Yes it is, in layman terms it clogs up the engine. There are other effects but having an engine flaming out in mid air during take off or landing is bad enough.

They explained it on Bang Goes The Theory.

How it buggers up the engines (and why switching off the engines mid-flight helps sort it):

Weather is eratic at the moment, some days a little gloomy and rainy, but over the last 2 weeks we've had some cracking weather.

Today it's roasting for this time of year (about 25?) - limited wind. Could well pish down tomorrow, but hey!
