Maybe it's the smaller schools that don't require a BA? I'm only really interested in part-time bar work and the like, though.
Thats with a working holiday visa, you can teach freelance and pick up part time eikaiwa gigs no problems on a WH visa. I know people doing this right now
BUT
For a full time working VISA you need a degree (You could just make your own degree up, tho.............)Last edited by Jushin-Thunder-Liger; 01-03-2006, 15:20.

Looks like I may be teaching and living in Japan for 3-4 months next year as part of my degree course, would be based in Beppu/Oita (hot springs capital of Japan!), its right on the tail end of Japan (on Kyushu) , around 3 hours from Osaka by train, and 6 to Tokyo! So wondered if anyone possibly knew of any decent games stores vaguely close to Beppu/Oita?? cheers3DS FC (updated 2015): 0447-8108-3129

Excellent, finally heading to Japan for 10 days in June. Hope it doesnt rain all the time!
I have read everything in this thread from 2005 onwards. If anyone could ever take the time to extract and highlight the best bits, it would be essential resource, as it its, only the strong get through to the end
Anyway some great advice, a couple of questions regarding my trip:
1. Were heading out as a group (5 lads), we have a friend who lives out there already, so hopefully he can give us a tour, take us to some highlights etc. As it is, im a bit apprehensive going round in a 'gang' especially with regards to nightlife, could this cause any problems?
2. Anyone know where this is, its close to my friends flat!
Edit, this is the address from the website:
23,Kami-Osaki 2-chome,Shinagawa-Ku,Tokyo
Where is this?!
Anyone with any accomodation suggestions for that area is welcome. Cheaper the better.
3. Is there any possibility of renting an aparment or similar for that length of time? Considering theres 5 of us, it may be a better option?
4. Anyone around for a beer in early June please let me know!
Thanks all, this thread is invaluable.Last edited by hobo; 15-03-2006, 11:07.

I am sure it will have some games shops, most towns do and, if not, the nearest big town certainly will.
EDIT: This site describes it as a city, so I reckon you'll find something.
