He's had one or two decent spells at the start of the season, and I seem to remember him scoring a nice goal against Trabzonspor. I know how irritatingly inconsistent he can be, but I still think he has potential, and he would of given us something different at least, as opposed to the drab inevitability of what played out yesterday. As a sub, he has changed games on a few occasions. Plus he has a monstrous shot on him if he gets a yard of space in front of him.

In other news, reports today suggesting Johnson wants out of the club with immediate effect, following Hogson's public attack on the player. Nice one, Roy

A bit of a shocking performance against Stoke.

Konchesky was crap his positional sense is non existant and he seems to have no pace at all. The criticism of Johnson seemed rather stupid by Roy but thats what you expect from completely inept manager, he needs to go before he is given any say so on transfers in January he is a complete joke. I think Kelly is looking reasonably decent when he plays RB and I would like to see Aurelio at LB if he is ever fit.

Only bright sparks at the moment for me a Torres seems to be getting back to some level of match fitness and Maxi seems to have found a bit of form.

Meireles and Poulson dont seem to really add anything at all when either of them play at the moment, unfortunately they both look like purchasing mistakes. I hope that one of them can come good soon.

Sorry but not having that about Meireles. He's looked a class act since he arrived, and with very little bedding in time.

You're right, but not when he has been played out wide on the right. He is good centrally though.

Fair comment he does look more effective centrally but will he ever start there?? Barring his impending ban it looks like Lucas and Gerrard as starters.

Should probably be in ahead of Gerrard at CM.

But it's hard to see things changing, especially away from home, regardless of what players we are using and where they are playing.

Roy has played 82 away games in the Premier League and won 13...

Gerrard out for 3 to 4 weeks with a hamstring injury from the England match.

                  ****e. England is ****.

                  Chance for Meireles.

Poulsen and Meireles vs Parker and Noble.

Meireles is the classier of the lot but I'm worried Poulsen will get lost in the match. That has to be pretty much the only option.

I'd love to have N'gog and Torres up top, but thats unlikely. Need to attack a team like West Ham.

                      Methinks

                      Reina
                      Johnson Carra Skrtel Konchesky
                      Kuyt Poulsen Meireles Maxi
                      Ngog Torres

Shame Spearing broke his ankle, was apparently going to start.

Poulsen was surprisingly able on Saturday evening. I'm taking it all with a pinch of salt, however, as the West Ham side faced had to be one of the worst I've witnessed.

Everyone gave Johnson man of the match, it seems, he did play very well with the freedom he was given down the right but I thought Meireles was superb throughout with his distribution and play. Again, the performances of the team can be taken with a pinch of salt when the performance of West Ham is taken into account.

All in all not a bad performance, Konchesky is still worrying and N'Gog did himself justice again I think. He always seems to work his socks off and his incessant movement always provides an outlet.

Ngog & Meireles were both excellent.

Ngog is much better at holding the ball when isolated compared to Torres.

I agree with the N'Gog comment totally, he really seems to appreciate the ball and has some lovely close control. If he can manage to get some of that raw goal scoring talent Torres possesses then he could be very good indeed.

Also happy Suso has signed a deal, was pretty much a given but it means we'll hopefully be able to seem him grow into a very good player. Everyone raves about his talent at the moment.

Konchesky is ****e. He should of been all over Lennon.

Didn't put our chances away. Simple as that. We played well otherwise.
