    I am devasted

We were awful. All this stuff about Gerrard in the middle is irrelevant.

Liverpool as a team need to shape up.

I am always optimistic but the word Houllier keeps springing to mind.

    Oh well.

Guess this is the wind and the rain part...

      Couldn't agree more.

I always said that Liverpool's title challenge this season would live or die by whether they could start their league campaign well enough - something that they've never done in the Premiership era - and sadly, this is the end result.

It would be an absolute tragedy if Rafa's time at Anfield ends in the way it did for Houllier...

In 01-02 Houllier (well Thomo actually) had us clear at the top of the league at pretty much this point in the season. From the middle of September until 16th of December we didn't loose a game. Unfortunately we had the 'winter of discontent' and only won 1 game from the next 8 (crucially dropping 5 points against eventual league winners Arsenal in the process) which is where the title we should really have won slipped away.

Anyway, as for comparing Rafa and Ged I think their problems are opposite sides of the same coin. Houllier's 'tactics' were set in stone, we played the exact same long ball game regardless of who we playing/what the score was etc...
Rafa on the other hand seems to change systems like the wind changes direction. Seemingly letting the other side dictate his team set-up to a worrying extent.

A *slightly* better performance against a completey ****ing awful Boro side, should've battered them really. The fact we could've lost if Yakubo didn't have a hole in his foot is alarming.

Boro must be the coldest town in the country.

Although the end product (shooting, final pass etc) was tragic I think we controlled the game more than we have in any other away league game this season, so that is why I reckon it was a teeny bit better.
I've got to come up with something positive to cling onto...

Actually they started well in 93-94 and 94-95, but recently they certainly haven't.

We've finally won an away League game, been a fooking long time coming.

Yeah, made up for Bellamy. Hope this is a regular occurrence starting from now

                      Good day all round.

They were **** scared of Bellamy's pace after the first goal, dropped amazingly deep to try and deal with it and gave us so much room to play in.
Bringing the back-three into fashion again might be a pretty decent idea - we have 3 excellent center backs in Carra, Agger & Hyypia and Finnan & Riise can both do a job at wing back (probably Riises ideal position). It really seemed to suit Gerrard too...

Nice to hear the lieing bastard chants and banners re: that **** MacKenzie from the fans, I can't believe people give that animal a platform to speak on.

Bascombe's article in the Echo seems to indicate it is a dead cert.

Yup, apparently more minted than Abramovich. However I can't imagine they're going to fritter it away. After all they are looking upon us as an investment, rather than a muse.

ANyway, we won't be able to have a go at Chelsea now for buying the league.

Another very decent performance. Good to see Pennant looking a lot more relaxed and confident, he had a very good game which I think in turn helped Finnan who was also very good - they could turn out to be a nice balanced pair on the RHS.
Garcia was typical Garcia, gave the ball away all over the place but then scored one of the best headers you'll see all season.
Good to see Carra score too - he should really get more goals.

Hopefully we can carry on this little run and get a result at the Valley.

Looking good fellas. Pitty the blues couldn't do us a favour getting a win or draw against Chelsea. Hopefully Man U's confidence will be crushed after today and our title race out of nowhere will be on lol Nah, good to see we've finally found some form. We got Barca in the bag
