Didn't look like Kuyt was caught in the face there at all, back of the head if anything, yet he's rolling around clutching his face just like the Barca player last night. I wish they'd start banning players after the match for cheating like that.

Liverpool did rather blow it and that surprised me. Particularly at home Liverpool of old would have had the grunt to grab another goal and sit on it convincingly until the end.
But so much seemed to be put on Gerrard's shoulders - he wore himself out. and there was simply nobody there of the same quality to pick up the slack.

Well he made one of the best signings ever with Torres, erm.. I know what you mean, but I just can't decide whether I want him to go. What sort of knock on effect will that have on the team in terms of star players? Will Torres get off if Benitez left? Scary times. Hope we come out the other side in good shape. So, If we stick with Benitez and he gets to buy some quality players, then yeah keep him for another season.
Most players he shows interest in I don't mind. With Torres, I was on the fence. He wasn't a prolific goal scorer. Benitez has had a big hand in making him one of the world's best in just a season.
All I can do is pray lol.

I think Benitez still deserves one more chance at it. If that means big signings then so be it, but I think one more season to show that all of the work under his stewardship hasn't been undone would be good.
I am also feeling better about a future without Gerrard, theres been rife speculation about it for a while now and I think it could be time for him to seek a big pay day and maybe sample a different league.
As for the match last night, Liverpool struggled massively with Babel on the left, he was poor. His technique is almost non-existent, I've lost count the amount of times he gives the ball away with rubbish passing. I think we also lacked the tireless work rate of Mascherano in the middle of the pitch, his closing down was sorely missed.
Of course the quality of Kuyt was also a problem, for the amount of work he put in you could see nothing would stick and that told.
All in all Liverpool need a left back, two wingers, a striker and the next I'm not sure. So it'll be interesting to see what happens this summer. I think Benitez will go, but I'm not entirely sure who would be able to replace him. Hodgson, Mourinho and Capello would be the only ones to seriously consider.

As a neutral I think Poppy Pirate should be booted.
I overheard yesterday that it's been 4 years since a trophy. This season, a failure in Europe and a poor league campaign, hell, it seems like you're further away than ever.
Sometimes with a manager, despite past glories, you need to bite the bullet and go your separate ways. With those owners, you need a manager who can get the best out of more limited resources, who can spend well and fit specific players into specific systems. Someone who can unearth gems and polish them. Someone with new ideas and a fresh approach. Throwing money at the problem is only part of the answer, you need the right players for the right job, playing good systems as a team. Man City have proved that money alone doesn't get you there.
Just say PUP gets his 5 players. Would he be the man to get a trophy, considering he seems to have (at least partially) lost some of the players?

Thats what I like to see Team Andromeda! Quality discussion, I should have known when you posted last it'd be something completely inane. At least I wasn't too disappointed after I'd clicked the link.
Chelsea tomorrow, after a gruelling 120 minutes on Thursday I can see a comfortable win for them. Ah well, theres always next season.
