Debt is at the point where Champions League money isn't really going to do a great deal. The club needs a large (?100m+) injection of outside money to keep RBS happy.

If we finish 4th or 14th the situation remains largely the same in the short-term. No money to strengthen the squad and player(s) will probably need to be sold either way.

I think expectations need to change to be honest - looking to next season, if our situation remains the same at board level a top four finish will represent a massive over-achievement IMO.

If we win the league within my lifetime just one more time I'll have to call it a good prospect.

If Rafa gets a payout from liverpool if they sack him, and he then moves on to Real Madrid or another team. Would he not have to give the payout back to Liverpool? I thought that was standard practice in these type of things.

If he is sacked, as in doesn't engineer a move to another club, then he takes the rest of his pay afaik.

If, after being sacked, he gets another job it doesn't make any difference to the fact he was sacked.

            Riera's gone then.
Shame in a way, as when he was fully fit last year he showed he was a decent player and forced his way in the Spain squad on a regular basis. But you can't show the kind of attitude he has recently, and if the stories of him hitting young Dani Pacheco in training are true Rafa is right to get shot of him. Players having fights is pretty common place, but a senior pro hitting a teenager is bang out of order imo.

Non-competing clauses in contracts are common in the US but heavily frowned upon in the EU.

Some clubs that 'poach' a manager pay compensation to avoid a court of arbitration appearance though.

teams that miss a hatful like this often pay for leaving the score at 1-0, not that sunderland have looked like scoring yet

Is Beachball on the bench? Sunderland have a chance if they bring him on.

                                Torres should have scored there.
