5 great chances missed in the last 15mins there. Can't believe we've drawn that

Goodbye 4th place. Poopy poopy poopy burgers.

Useless and inept. Torres was bemused why he was taken off, so clearly he wasn't injured. Gerrard's face said it all. Quite obviously the manager was saving Torres for the Benfica tie. What a sh!t head of a manager.

Rafa's sealed his fate then - 4th has gone. What was it: "I guarentee will will finish fourth."?

That's it for me, he's got to go. I couldn't give a flying **** about the Europa League compared to finishing 4th. Not only will we not have Champions League football next season but it's looking more likely that City will. City's money + CL football = buying pretty much anyone they want. That's the thing I'm most worried about

He's got to go no question at the end of the season. No player is bigger than the club, but seeing Gerrard's face of disgust really said it all. The manager made the wrong call when the game was still up for grabs and not for the first time, that method has back fired.

Oooh ****. I'm preparing myself for the worst. Sadly. I'd like to believe Torres will stay on for another season to see if things change, but I'm not so sure of that. I agree, the manager needs to go. It's going to be a rollercoaster ride in the summer.

I can't imagine anyone can defend him now. Torres wouldn't have ensured a win but N'Gog wasted so many chances that it highlighted his absense.

Torres looked pretty upset at being taken off he looked close to tears on the bench

It'll be Piss Off Pirate now.

Gerrard's stare spoke a thousand cusses.

                        Doom and gloom eh lads?

I don't see why everyone is marking this as a watershed moment. Torres isn't that long back from injury, he has suffered with recurring injuries for a while, he was over exerted on Thursday and then asked to play today too.

The failing is not that Torres had to come off at all, its the fact N'gog is the replacement. Whilst he is definitely an interesting prospect, he is some way off the kind of second striker Liverpool need to chip in with the goals.

Of course, thats been apparent all season. So I don't really understand why everybody is reacting like this to Benitez. In terms of sound thinking behind ensuring Torres is fit for the rest of the season it makes complete sense. The main issue is the strength in depth of the squad.

Also, cant argue with none of the top 6 winning at Brum this season, clearly its a hard place to go and get 3 points. And I've just seen the chances N'gog missed. He had 3, the header was quite hard given his positioning. The ball over the top from Gerrard was difficult because the recovering defender forced the snapshot. I can't, however, stick up for him for the final chance, that was a simple option to nick it across to Gerrard.

Of course, Torres never makes mistakes or misses easy chances

I think some of you guys need to look at things in perspective and realise nothing has changed all season. This is exactly how its been and how it will be until things significantly change. Either through change of manager, owner or playing staff. Maybe even all 3.

Personally, I think our key players are hating on Rafa. I'm with the key players. I think Rafa's had his chance. I'm at a point now where I'm willing to see a new manager come in and do something a bit refreshing. Sorry, but just how I feel now.

Performance improved markedly after Torres went off I thought, he was having a poor game and looked like the kicking he received during the week had taken its toll.
Also for anyone who has just watched MOTD2 the boos were NOT coming from the Liverpool section when he was subbed off, it was the Brummies booing NGog (after his 'dive' at Anfield).

Ian Beale from Eastenders was in the Ibis hotel bar before the game too, which was pretty much the most interesting thing from the whole day.

I think the ice pack on his leg was a cover up. He clearly wasn't injured by his reaction to the substitution. That image of Gerrard really spoke volumes and could be the nail in the coffin for Rafa.

A cover up for what? Rafa stated in his post match interview that Torres was not injured and he was taken off because he looked tired (which he did).
Fernando has recently had an operation on that knee, I would imagine the ice is applied after every game and training session to keep any swelling in check.

As for Gerrard, well another sad episode in a pretty awful season from him. In other seasons where he has carried the team for periods you could possibly understand (but not accept) this kind of thing, but this season he has largely been garbage and would be better served concentrating on playing to an acceptable standard and behaving in a way that befits a captain of Liverpool Football Club.
