If they are really interested in him I would bite their hands off for a deal involving Higuain going the other way. Although I doubt even Real are that daft.

Formers players like Mark Lawrenson and Alan Hansen work for the BBC as well as the papers , but they must know nothing

Nothing is pretty close to the truth I would think.

Maybe in Alan case, he did predict Liverpool to win the title

As I've said before, instead of some people just focusing on what's going on on the pitch, you need to acknowledge what's going on of it and who it's actually affecting the club you claim to support.

            David Moores Finally speaks out.

Just skimmed the article (was a bit of a case of TLDR) and ultimately the root of the problems come down to this: piss off or scare off owners and the people they sell it too are very unlikely to be any better.

Fans buying out the club... Not gonna happen. Assuming you find 100,000 people willing to part with 5K, What's going to happen when the club needs another £100million at the end of the season to buy some players? Are these fans going to stump up another £1000?

Then there's the other aspects. If 'the fans' have bought out the club, there'll be pressure to lower ticket prices ("I own the club yet I cannot afford to watch them!!!!"), Players finances will be far more public (making them less keen to join) and ultimately if things start to go wrong, pressure will end up being put on the government to help which will be grossly unfair to everyone else.

What has fans buying the club got to do with anything??

Anyway, the letter doesn't tell us anything new really. Moores was naive at best, incompetent at worst.

Fan ownership is the long term aim, but I don't see it being a realistic aim. If we could emulate what Barcelona have achieved, great. But I don't see it as being workable.

As for Moores, the most interesting thing about it is that he has finally spoken out. He's been quiet for far too long, and the timing of this is quite interesting. Whether he had some gagging order on him when he walked away I don't know. I don't believe for a second he parted with the club with purely his own financial interests in mind as some people claim. Perhaps the statement will be seen as self serving, but ultimately if he can be used to help oust the cancer in the club, then I see this as a good thing.

Word on the street is that Benitez has been sacked. Anyone confirm? Not in any main media yet...

Guardian and Sky are reporting he has been offered 3mil to quit with immediate effect.

A big big drop from what he is due if they sack him.

Seems wierd they have decided to do this now. Maybe its because the manager they want is attracting other clubs? So the boards hand has been forced, maybe.

Makes no sense to wait until now, could have done it right at the end of the season.

edit: Its inevitable Benitez is going then, even the BBC are reporting it. I also think we could be in for a big change in the squad too. With Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano and Benayoun all looking to move there will be interesting times ahead.

Who the hell would come in, if Benitez goes? Allardyce or Bruce? Dark times...

Hodgson! I would be extremely happy if we got him.

I like Benitez a lot, massive fan of his. Stuck with him for bloody ages. But right now its obvious he has lost the dressing room. All season that could be seen.

Its time for a change, lets hope they manage to attract someone who can work well with what we have already because there wont be any big signings.

In terms of budget, Hodgson (and most other Premier League managers come to think of it) would be taking a step down if he left Fulham for Liverpool...

I'm now ****ting myself that I'm going to have to turn up and watch a Martin O'Neill side next season. Please God, no.

Oi, hands off! We love our MagBoss.

If you get Allardyce, the fans should organise a road block to try and prevent his trebuchets from being wheeled into Anfield.

Martin O'Neil would be an attrocious signing. It'd make me feel sick. There aren't many Premier League managers I'd like to see at Liverpool. Hodgson is probably the only one, or maybe Roberto Martinez :P
