Sorry, just not in the mood for mancs and anti-PES persons today

    I'll get over it.

MANCS? Take that back sir! (I'm from Nottingham, and support Forest. Cause someone has to...)

In 4 of the last 5 seasons Reina has been top of the clean-sheets table (once jointly). He has been brilliant pretty much from day 1.

Oh I'm sure I always see you posting in the Man U thread, high-fiving. My mistake

Well last season is the first time I thought that he is a top drawer keeper. Before that he has look very suspect dealing with crosses. I don't think he does anymore. Perhaps most of the season before also, perhaps I was a little harsh but he certainly hasn't been brilliant from day 1.

I'm sorry, but 20 clean sheets in his first season can only be described as brilliant, there is no other word for it.

That is fair enough. I am not going to argue with stats but we all know a clean sheet is as much down to the whole defence as the keeper. For me he was just very prone to gaffs early on. I think he has developed into a fantastic keeper now though.

All this is of course missing the point.
Even if Liverpool's squad of players are only just good enough for a top 10 finish in the Premier League, they should still be able to easily beat a team from the bottom-half of the lowest tier of English League football. I would expect our under-18 side to beat them.

Boro have plenty of international players in their side so they must be top quality then?

My views are pretty simple on it, Liverpool are a big side(World renowned with a great history) with mid table quality players but the even bigger worry is what's going on off the pitch rather than on it. I think Roy is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Come on, how many players did Boro have at the World Cup. 10+ like Liverpool?

I don't envy Roy's position at all. But his position is no different than Rafa's in recent times.

The difference is that when we were poor in the past it was down to Rafa the clueless Spaniard, he was so cold, so distant, he lost the players, he didn't understand the English mentality, he was disrespecting the Cups by fielding weaker sides, he was negative, he played long ball football. The off the field problems had nothing to do with it pundits said, he needs to deal with things on the pitch blah blah blah.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, the xenophobic nature of some of the press and TV coverage has been awful.

Ridiculous. Stick to playing Football manager or whatever it is you do to form an opinion.

                          Nail. Head.

Did you hear about Pellegrini chomping at the bit to manage us and we turned him down. Had to be an englishman apparently. I despair.

Haha, I have a mate like that. I'll be having a footy related conversation with someone and he will pipe up talking about how good some random player is. The conversation usually ends with..."Is this a player you came across in FM?" Replies "Yes".

Nice to know there are still a few of our fans who know the score.

And you are another idiot liverpool fan in this thread. Never played FM in my life.

In fact I was totally slated in this thread before last season kicked off for stating the Liverpool would finish no higher than third.
I bet any one of you who slated me then would take it now.

I do not support a club, I take an interest in most clubs so I certainly have a much clearer view than most, not that I am saying I am correct.

At least I have put across my views and backed them up and formed a discussion unlike some of the pricks in here that don't like it when you disagree.
