Wow, an England performance that actually excited me rather than sending me to sleep! Congrats to Capello for getting his team selection and tactics spot on, and congrats to the players carrying it all out. Typical of a big time coach like Capello to get everything spot on in the most important match.

Fingers crossed that we can build on this kind of performance and keep it up. Although I wouldn't mind betting that there will be a few "we're bound to win in 2012!!!" reactions from parts of the media tomorrow, swiftly followed by a "Capello is clueless!!!" reaction if we don't thrash Kazakhstan at Wembley

Also what the hell is up with the commentators: "after that howler he'll be seen as Chelsea's Ashley Cole, not England's". What kind of comment is that to say? These are the same people who go on about the lack of team spirit and pride for England. I didn't hear them saying it was 'Chelsea's lampard' who set up both the goals...

They were referring to the crowds booing. As in the crowd are now thinking of him as Chelsea's Cole, not Englands Cole.
