Looks like a large number of players have come down with a series of unfortunatly timed week long injuries...

Of all the the players who've been mysteriously injured only Terry has put his name down and at least let himself be examined by a physio. But I'm sure this will be a valuable friendly with us missing a minimum of 3 important players and playing players who are so good they're on loan to a championship side...

What's the point of these friendlies other than to tire out already stretched players?

Anyone can go to a physio and scream "ouch" all night long. Terry has only seen him coz the physio is his neighbour.

Wasn't it John Terry who missed the recent international matches yet was miraculously fit enough to play Chelsea's matches either side of these fixtures?

From my team's perspectives, yes we've pulled Rooney and Rio but at least they weren't out on the pitch against Stoke on Saturday.

It was also John Terry who played in a face mask when he had broken cheek bones.

Latest reports say he'll be fit but Lampard is going to be out instead XD

What's the point of this? Our entire attacking line up will be different

            So, Walcott's pulled out now...

We're down to what, 4,5 first team players? This match is a waste of time.

Gotta agree. You really need 7 or 8 first team regulars along with 3 or 4 players who are being given a chance to impress. You need to know if the new players can get along with the regular first team players, playing a team full of reserves doesn't tell you how well they'll integrate with a full strength side.

It'll tell you if they're better than a full strength side though, much like Arsenal's Carling Cup team!

I have to work 5-9, I'm gonna miss most of this match. LAME. If I get home and we're winning 5-1 I'm gonna cry

Arsenal's famous carling cup youth teams that keep failing to make a dent in the first team year after year (aside from walcott) :P

I was on holiday in America for the 5-1 win in 2001, completely missed out on all the fun

Just started watching 2nd half after football training - Darren Bent slips after rounding the keeper then bog cock-up at the back hands them the equaliser. Terry at fault IMO.

nah got to blame that on carson, he was far far too slow to react, communication and organisation is usually one of Terry's strong points, he clearly thought Carson was going to come out for the ball

Terry had more than enough time to see Carson wasn't getting there and should have cleared it. Fair play though he has redeemed himself with a quality header, 2-1 England now.

Oh man, we're starting to look dangerously good.

It's just going to make the inevitable crushing disappointment even harder to bear

Anyone else agree Gary Cahill should get given a chance in the next friendly?
