They are a HUGE joke! Blatter and co., ignore the cries of the world for the use of goal line tech, until they are embarrassed with the Lampard 'goal' in South Africa...and now they will 'discuss' it (yeah, right!), and today they give 2018 and 2022 to two countries who just happen to be extremely oil rich!

Russia I can understand they've never had it before will no doubt spend billions on it, and at least fans can have a drink.

vanpeebles, you are so spot on it's untrue! Blatter calls us the 'motherland' of football in his speech, yet FIFA show us about as much disrespect as it possibly can with 1 lousy vote, and he already knew this!

Talk Sport are reporting that Sebb Blatter held a meeting before the vote 'reminding' voters about our media coverage.

Nearly all the heritage of modern clubs around the world can be traced back to traveling soldiers or engineers etc from the UK.

FIFA was deliberately setup by the Europeans to take the modern game out from under us, which did happen as the FA and UK Govt sat on their arses and did nowt.

Despite many people saying otherwise, the Panorama report has had a major bearing on Blatter and his henchmen. Our own media has played a part in our failure!

Plus there were reports of the Qatar delegation celebrating in the corridors BEFORE the winning nations were announced for either tournament! This just illustrates how corrupt the whole process has been today...

tbh I think the panorama thing was at best an excuse for FIFA to kick our bid out, not the reason behind the failure. There was probably very little chance of us getting it before all of the media hullabaloo, due to the recency of Euro 96, the Olympics, the Commonwealth games, and the host of other reasons engrained in FIFA voters.
