Nothing but a win is acceptable today. Severely weakened defence but we have Ashley Cole back (hopefully starting) which should give us a realy boost attacking.

We need to look at this as if it's the Quarter final. Man U aren't going to lose one so we just have the remaining games.

      2-0 at 35mins.

Great performance from Chelsea so far. Drogba's touch for the first was absolute class. It's a shame he's got zero chance of player of the year (even if he gets the golden boot and Chelsea get the double).

I know we're going to get flak for the second goal but he was entitled to go for it and the keeper never got a touch on the ball. We should've had a penalty before that anyway.

If a Stoke player had gone in two footed like that they'd have disallowed it, at least booked the player, and we'd be hearing all about typical dangerous Stoke play.

If Drogba could go a whole season without being a petulant prick, diving everywhere and just moaning he would have a chance. When he focuses on playing Football he is up there with thr very best.

Lower sides get away with far worse, you only have to look at Cech. He had the ball in both hands

But then Rooney has received cards for diving too and still runs up to refs swearing (not as much as he used to but he still does it).

I don't think there was anything wrong with the second goal! :S

Now that's how to bounce back. Our goal difference is secure (in the unlikely scenario where it'll matter). Great to see Sturridge get his first league goal.

That's an average of over 4 goals a game in 2010

                Bring on Anfield!

(Come on, you don't really want to see Man U beat your record do you?)

Fair play to your lot smurfy like it or lump it it was an emphatic way to bounceback under a lot of pressure but think we all know it was gonna come down to the Liverpool and Sunderland games anyways.

To be honest, that doesn't bother me. I'd love to see us do the near impossible and land in 4th via divine intervention and if that meant helping the mancs nick the title, so be it.

Thought about this a lot recently, and in the end, I have to agree with Hoolak.

That said, those who have played their part in the absolute mismanagement, complacency and downright naïvety in terms of the off-field affairs at Liverpool over the last two decades since the last League title win need to take long, hard looks at themselves.

Wonder if Chelsea do win it, if they'll keep talking about our 'boring' football with our 4 goals per match average

I don't think Chelsea's football is boring but its definitely functional, efficient, and unarguably highly effective.

I wish Arsenal could get a bit more of that in their play, for all the criticism of Frank Lampard and his deflected shots I wish we'd shoot rather than looking for a sliderule pass a bit more often.

Its very good players at Chelsea not overcomplicating the game, boring no but not at the artey end of the scale like Arsenal or Barca

Chelsea were magnificent yesterday and have been a fair few times this year. Yeah sometimes its dull but that is the mark of a great team, win when you suck!

If Barcelona scored that second Lampard goal people would be going nuts for it. Chelsea just don't get the credit they deserve.
