    Thanks guys. Keep them coming!

Drogba having the balls to call anyone a Disgrace amuses me! By all accounts, they should have had a penalty or two, but still. It's Drogba. His name is almost an anagram for Digrace. Well, it's close enough

Non-chelsea fans should piss off out of this thread. ... Do you want Chelsea fans spoiling your threads???

Chelsea could have won the match 3-0. If a player is brought down in the box before he takes his shot - then he deserves a chance to score a penalty. The referee denied chelsea five penalty decisions. It was totally unjust. The handball incident was blatant and obvious.

Chelsea put in a much stronger, positive display than Barcelona. Barca looked weak and clueless.

I agree that the referee was a joke. He shouldn't have sent off the Barca player. It was a tragic night for Chelsea - because the referee was a disgrace to his profession.

Drogba isn't the brightest spark( what footballer is? ) .. but he is a man with passion - and had the right to be angry. The whole Chelsea team have the right to feel aggrieved. The ref destroyed their dreams.

You don't need Sherlock Holmes to know that the ref was dodgy. He denied five Chelsea penalties. Obviously.. a ref can't fix a match totally, but.. they can do their best to get the outcome they want.

No one can even say the penalty decisions were difficult to make. They were all clear; some ridiculously obvious. It's a shame that football can be sooo corrupt. Chelsea tried their best, but.. the ref was the thorn in their side.

Why? Because we decided to conduct some harmless banter?! It goes on in all the much used football threads on this forum.

I think we would all agree the ref had an awful game. Chelsea should have had a couple of penalties and Abidal shouldn't have been sent off but that is football at the end of the day.

It's all well and good going on about the poor refereeing decsions but Chelsea had other chances to finish the game off, the Drogba chance comes to mind immediately, but they didn't take them. Barca also wouldn't have equalised if Essien had made a more commanding clearance. There are many ifs and buts you can take into consideration but like I said that is the way things happen in this game sometimes.

Yes Chelsea will feel hard done by but they are not the first team that something like this has happened to and in no way does it excuse the way some of the players behaved towards the referee, especially Drogba and Ballack.

EDIT - There is no way the match was fixed or the referee was corrupt, that is just not true. Unless someone can provide some pure hard evidence that suggests he was paid off or he is Barca fan or something then yeah it is just not true. The guy just had a bad game, unfortunate for Chelsea that it was this particular game.

I agree. I always avoid gloating and piss taking after hard results for other teams yet no one seems to offer that restraint when it comes to Chelsea. I had trouble sleeping last night because of how much that hurt and it still hurts immensely in the morning. I imagine most Chelsea fans are hurting.

If you lose, you want to feel it was a fair loss or that you were just unlucky. Not something like that to happen. That wasn't (just) bad luck.

Chelsea aren't the first team to be hard done by by dodgy refs against barcelona... There was the chelsea side a few years back with a completely farcical red against drogba, where the Ref was known to have had a meeting with the Barcelona manager (which he admitted... after he quit). Sorry, I have never seen such bad reffing in a game it reeks of a fix. I can't believe a top ref could be that incompetent.

How can we score when we're fouled so often in the box with zero protection from the ref? The fouls stopped goals.

People say Barcelona were good. Sorry, they were crap. They never looked like scoring, their world class players looked average, Chelsea continually threatened them on the counter, we outclassed them and only didn't score because of the fouling and lack of resulting penalties.

From seeing it last night, only the Pique one was a definite penalty to me. Not having access to Sky I haven't seen replays of the others, but would appreciate being told which incidents are being referred to, as I can't remember any others that were that obviously wrong decisions. I watched on a Spanish language (Argentine ESPN) feed last night, and it was only that Pique handball that they really got animated about, saying that it was a clear penalty.

I can see why the maladou one wasnt given the initial fouls were outside you cant give a penalty for that, Drogabs one when he was with toure was for me but i can see why he didnt give it, they were both leaning, the pique was was stonewall, and the eto one could have been given if you raise hands then i thought it was a penalty, so i think they should have had the 2 handballs, saying that abidal should not have gone, and henry should have had a pen in the nou camp, so really chelsea have themselves to blame for not kiliing the tie off when they had chaces, but over two games barca were pants, one shot in 96 minutes isnt a good stat however much you pass the ball, they are like arsenal very one dimensional and and they cant defend to save there lives

Why that then , I think all fans of football should be allowed to comment , what next only 360 fans able to post in 360 topics , not PS3 fans allowed to respond ?, Only Man Utd fans allowed to post in Man Utd based threads and noone else

And I'm sorry while Chelsea was by far the better team , and I really wanted them to win , while The ref was a complete joke and a disgrace to Football, I'm sorry to say so were Chelsea Players actions during and after the match The likes of Drogba now need to be banned for matches , because he's was just as much of a disgrace to Football , as the Ref was last night imo.

We have neutral threads for heated cross team banter. Most football forums don't allow trolling and gloating on rival team threads. You don't have to restrict to just posting on your team's thread but posts that go "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" and the like aren't on in my view.

I've never known a player to get that heated (without punching someone) but I've also never seen a side that has had to deal with ref like that. How do you react when no matter what happens, the ref won't give you someone that everyone in the stadium knew was an inarguable penalty? When several penalties like that aren't given?

It's an emotional game and the ref changed the result. Barcelona were poor, chelsea outplayed them but were continually fouled in the box throughout the game.

Even the pundits who are totally against that kind of thing usually didn't really condemn Drogba ("obviously you can't do that but..."). Heck, it was only fear of legal action that stopped them claiming it was a fix (watch after the Hiddink interview, they clearly were trying to think of a way of saying it).

Its that happing in this thread ?, I don't think many are trolling , it's clear the Ref bottled it , but hey I'm sure I speak for many , when we've all had a ref like that , affect a game with a Team we support , where the Ref changed the result . If fact I'm surprised at how many people that support 'other' teams have come out and said Chelsea were robbed , and the Ref was a disgrace

That no excuse for what the like of Drogba done, I thought he was meant to injured , he was bouncing round like good one after the match
