...and another foul from Scholes yet the ref lets him off.

    Much better from United though.

Think even you Smurfy cant hide the fact you got a gift of a decision that gave you the win today mate.

Your goal was a handball though, may have been one that was very hard for the ref to spot but they he used his arms to control the ball.

There were 4 big (bad) decisions but they were spread evenly. We were a lot luckier than I've come to expect though

Anyhow, not an easy string of games to finish the season but we're in an incredbly good position. Excellent results. Incredibly tense last 10 minutes

I have to agree, I thought Macheda's goal was handball.

I also thought the ref in general was awful, all three of Scholes' tackles were yellow card offences. Drogba was miles offside though.

Seriously, the money riding on these games and that's the best a referee can officiate? Very very poor. How can a linesman (sorry, I'm not gonna call them referee's assistant) miss that? That is his main job, to flag for offside decisions? It's disgraceful, it really is.

The offside didn't cost United the game in my opinion either, the fact they looked half asleep for the first half and the fact that Rooney would probably have put away a couple of Berbatov's chances cost them the game.

My money is still on Man United to win the title though.

On the wayback from the game now, well chuffed . Suprised villa did the same tactics as when they lost 7-1. Reports said they should've had a penalty but I'll have to see on motd. Didn't look it from my view but it's hard to say for sure

Not impressed with wembley, way too difficult to create a good atmosphere, got more noise in old Trafford in the nosebleeds

TV view but it looked a penalty to me.

More importantly though, John Terry should have had a straight red for his "tackle" on Milner, it was over the top, studs showing, reckless and dangerous. I thought Webb had a bad game full stop and Deco could easily have gone as well, but he escaped a second yellow.

Good win for Chelsea though, Malouda is proving me wrong and Anelka's setup for Lampard's goal showed excellent vision.

Chelsea proved yet again that Villa just aren't good enough to break into the elite.

Seen them now, Terry is indeed a very lucky boy. Maybe the ref thought that him getting the ball made it less severe but I would have expected a red for it.

The penalty I don't think should've been given. Was pulling Mikel's shirt before the incident.

Great result at Blackburn today, for the first time in a long time I'm beginning to think we could really win the league again. We can now afford to drop points against Liverpool or Spurs (but not both)

Personally speaking I don't believe two wrongs make a right, I thought it was a pen.

You are right about Terry though, he was so lucky.

The league is there for the taking though, batter us in the week and you'll be on a massive high for the remaining games.

It's a bit annoying that some papers tried to use those two incidents to overshadow the result. Thought Ancelotti got the tactics perfect (make them run about and chase every ball in the first half then turn it on in the second half when they're tiring).

Any predictions for tonight then? I'm going for Chelsea 5-1 Bolton with Lampard scoring two goals.

*Should* be a comfy win but if I commit to anything concrete I'll just jinx it.

Just got to avoid them scoring first (so they then park the bus)

Hate to ruin stereotypes but we don't "park the bus" anymore, haven't since Coyle came in. We play a proper 4-4-2 now and attack as best we can, hence why we keep getting drubbed. Not complaining as it's nice to see us playing better football, but 3 points now and again wouldn't go amiss.

Unless Coyle changes that and plays some more defensive players, you will easily thrash us by 4 or more goals.

Oh and trust me, even if we score first, we won't be able to keep you out.

I'm saying 4-1, maybe 4-2 depending on the team 'they' put out.

I'd be happy with a 1-0 as long as we go 4 points clear of the Salford Red Sox.
