I'm not a big Football fan, however I have watched a fair few of the games. And quite frankly I don't think I'll bother watching football again until someone tells me that all the cheating gits that seem to to make up 90% of the teams are taken outside and shot.

But seriously.. I think we will stray from thug football in the future. There is lots of critics from the inside too. Mentality is good, and the team can win on bad days now. If we can get our football back, i'll be a happy git. At least we exacted revenge on Brazil, and made the nation cry. That alone made the cup run some sort of success to me tbh. Van Persie should be back in a role as second striker or winger. He proved he isn't a striker at all.
Before this cup started, we played some friendlies against Ghana etc. We smashed them with at times great football. We can still do it (same team that smacked Italy and France etc in 2008, some guys even better nowadays), but when the cup started the fear of losing and peaking too early took over. The only thing the players said was 'the 2008 Russia game never again'. That played a huge part.
What they did master was choosing their moments. Even against Spain but Robben was unlucky there. Had that be a goal, I doubt Spain would equalize. It wasn't that kind of match.Comment

i agree, that would have been in 9 times out of 10. it was frustrating watching holland at times coz i know they can pass the ball incredibly well when they want to and rip sides apart, better than spain can becuase they are more direct. i think having a weekend defence make them more nervous than they should have been.Comment
