Decent half of football. Some stunning saves from the Nigeria keeper

Greece won the European championship because of ultra defensive play, and a choking home team. Thing is that its already been 6 years go and those same guys still play. They suck.
Nigeria disappointed me. Argentina has just that, a great offense but no true vision behind it. Weak defense and goalie too. Veron was empty after an hour of play, and Messi is still mediocre in this jersey. Can't see them get that far.

interesting game, argentina looked good in bursts and could have had a few more but defence did look a but leaky, they could be good to watch but will need to to tighten up a bit at the back to go far.
so the big build up begins - don't think England are that great or gonna win the tournament but should be a comfortable, if not high scoring, win against a fairly average US team tonight.

How did Lee Chung Yong play today?
I missed the game as I was enjoying a lovely drive up the M5 and saw about 3 minutes at a service station.
I want the lad to do well and get some recognition, but at the same time I know if he does do well, the chances are we'll lose him pretty soon.
Argentina should have won their game by five or six and the France - Uruguay game was piss poor.
Quite disappointed with the tournament so far.
Anyway, I reckon 1-1 for tonight's game.

People moaning about the tournament after just 4 matches! Really?
Bloody enjoyed it all apart from the France game. Mexico were exciting without the end product. The SA was brilliant and great for the nation. South Korea were shredding the sorry Greeks, promoting attacking football nicely. Argentina showed flashes of quality and weakness and some great African goalkeeping which is something we don't see to often.
Enjoying it so far.

I exaggerate but looks as if Rooney has his wish of playing up front alone - Heskey in the starting line up defies belief. I can only think he's there to find out in the least risky match if the goal scoring spark is ever going to (re?)ignite.
Milner as opposed to J.Cole, happy enough with that. Give Milner some more experience against, hopefully, weaker opposition. Same thing with the goalkeeper as I still think James is our number one.
The rest as predicted - fingers crossed.Last edited by fallenangle; 12-06-2010, 17:29.
