It will be another easy win for Spurs...Lambert and his "team" have run out of ideas it seems.

Set yet another new record yesterday...5 games without a goal for the first time in our history! Sad times for us fans at the moment.

Hard to see where the next Villa goal is going to come from in honesty, that is some run without a goal (and before that 80 minutes in the prior game). Think only Torres at Chelsea has gone longer without finding the net.

I dont think thats entirely fair on Villa because Benteke has just come back from a very long lay off and should be improving with every single match he plays.

Being a Liverpool supporter, I'm worried the team are gonna get spanked by a Newcastle team looking to carry on their recent run.

One man does not make a team.

Spurs are awful at the back...luckily for them it is Villa they are playing.
Our hoofball tactics are terrible to watch tho.
But 1nil up so shouldn't moan...

...not until the last ten minutes at least! One of the best ways to win a match, bloody awful when you're on the receiving end though.

So glad we sneaked the win, would have been 16th and 2 points above the relegation zone had we lost. Yet instead we're thinking "Ohh, 8th and only 3 points off the CL spots, doesn't seem to bad!". Such a tight league at the moment where a single win or loss can make all the difference to your outlook and mood.

Looking grim at Villa. In form West Ham and Southampton next too, gonna be tough to get results from those. Six losses in a row is bad enough, could a manager survive eight in a row in the modern game?

That deflection summed up our season...

Benteke annoyed me for two reasons.
                1. Everyone knows you are off if you raise your hand so why do it?

                2. If you are that angry you don't care (whoever that punk was jabbing his head in CBs face) then punch him properly

Although the standard of football this season has been pretty poor there is one good thing....Chelsea will win the league but rather than only 4th place being open to an "outsider" it seems that 2-4 are open instead!

Hopefully the big teams carry on being rubbish so the likes of Southampton qualify for the CL

They've really shown up Spurs and Liverpool, who have both in the past two seasons lost their best player, splashed out the proceeds on a host of replacements, and ended up going backwards.

Yet Southampton lose multiple important first team players, and their manager on top of that, and they seem to have come out of it stronger than before. Brilliant handling of what could have been a really damaging summer.

Plenty of time for their form to drop off and the usual suspects to improve their form, but thus far they've been excellent. It'd be great if they can keep it up.

Can't be having West Ham staying in the top four though! Swansea can take their spot

Koeman has done an amazing job with what he was left with when he turned up.

Be amazed if Southampton don't start to slip down the table a bit after Christmas, always happens to thsese teams who may not have a depth of squad etc. Would expect Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and probably Man U to occupy top four places come May.

Totally agree about Chelsea, I have said for weeks now it's their title to chuck away. They are just so strong in every position.

Southampton have done really well picking up the points they have so far, but it has to be pointed out that they have had a very comfortable fixture list. They've lost the only two games they've played against the "big" teams - Spurs and Liverpool, although one of them was the opening game of the season.

I'm personally glad to see that Newcastle have started picking up points and the next three games are eminently winnable. It'll have to be seen whether we give up once we reach 40 points like last season though.

Hats off to Pardew, Newcastle 5th in the table now, were in a CL place yesterday for a few hours, what an amazing turnaround in the last six or so weeks.
