Time to put the mortgage on Villa going down, methinks.

Not sure what way it'll go with Sherwood at Villa. With Spurs I never felt he had any kind of gameplan going into matches; just pick the best eleven players, put them on the pitch, let them get on with it.

With players like Eriksen or a fired up Adebayor in the team, when they were on form, we generally picked up wins. Of course the flip side of that is that when those players weren't on form, or you were playing a superior team, and you looked to the manger to work out a way of winning anyway... Sherwood was usually found wanting.

And I think it's fair to say that the squad he had at Spurs had a tad more quality than the current Villa squad, so I'm not sure how well his approach will work when you haven't got Eriksen quality players to rely on.

He had a good win percentage with Spurs, but he also had the highest losing percentage of any of our managers since 2000. Hardly any draws with him in change, very much all or nothing. It should at least be more exciting (and scary!) to watch than it was under Lambert. 4-4-2, very open in midfield, gung ho.

You never know, after being stifled by Lambert, being told to just go out and play might be just what the Villa players need. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out!

One thing is for sure, they will have a better ratio of "less than a goal every two games" come May I bet. Just a case of scoring more than they concede. That's been Spurs plan for the last ten years hasn't it

Does feel a bit strange Sherwood being a club not Spurs though.

Ten? That's a bit of an underestimate. How many years has it been since 1882?

The Week of Shame continues at the SOS.

Not content with having players arrested for alleged sexual crimes, Poyet decides to play the windmilling ponce to perfection, and gets 'sent off.' Mrs Doubtfire must be wetting himself. We're a terrible side and bring nothing to the division bar drudgery.

As you were really, all the top eight teams won their games tonight/yesterday. Thought Arsenal and Man Utd may be held to draws but wasn't to be.

Doubled our away goals tally for the season in one half against Sunderland
Fans throwing stuff at Skeletor in the dugout....no Trevor Francis commentary.

Great day to be a Villa fan for a change

If he was #SherwoodTheMessiah before, what's he going to be after this result?

Very nice bonus for Villa with QPR losing too.

Couple of places gained, nice bump to the goal difference! Benteke and Gabby finding their form and we even brought on a small child as a sub!

Few more wins before he gets upgraded from Messiah though

I would say something profound and insightful about the malaise currently lurking around le Stade de Shyte. But that would require effort and ability. And since that concept is anathema to the pitch-dwellers, I can't be arsed either. So I simply say this: Bollocks.

Bollocks to that Whippy-curling Jim Henson puppet of a manager. Bollocks to the humiliations he's racking up on and off the pitch. Bollocks to his blame game, pointing fingers at everyone else. Bollocks to his tactical naivety and mind-numbing, flabbergastingly stupid team choices and strategies. Play a hobbit up front on his own, why don't you, with bigger, header-winning centre forwards pricking about on the left wing. Bollox to your 'system', whatever the hell that is - no sod knows. It seems to be based around farting around playing keep-ball in order to bore the opposition to death, and stopping them from scoring. It doesn't bloody work! The whole world's dog's dog can see it. We don't have the talent to do it. We're slow, ponderous, dull, and worse; afraid to lose. We don't try to win games; we try not to lose. Well that's working a treat, Ploppy.

Bollocks to the anuses on the pitch. Bolllocks to them showing off their lamborghinis on social media right before conceding 4 prior to half time in a must-win match against relegation rivals who couldn't score even with a gift card for the local brothel. Bollocks to them looking half-arsed as well as inept. Bollox to them getting in trouble with the Old Bill, and the supposed drinking culture creating an atmosphere of sloth and distrust, and a chasm of dislocation with the poor saps who trail there week in, week out. Earn your riches, you turds. Bollocks to making us a laughing stock with your 8-0 and 4-0 humiliations.

We don't ask the world up here. We won't get bed sheets out for boycoutts and hold mock funerals. This freakshow is not where SAFC is all about.

We just ask for effort and dignity. Not turds on the pitch or turds peppering the dressing room floor. Not underage ragging allegations. Not finger pointing from hapless goons.
