If, before you select a game, you go install->cancel, it'll spin the drive down. Not ideal, but easier than having to go and eject the disk.

I'm just working through my collection now. So far the only problem has been Virtua Racing, which installs but won't run (annoying, as it's a CD-based game, so it'd be nice to be able to play it and not have the drive noise going).

Hooked up the HDD and BB half an hour ago.
      All PAL unmodified hardware btw.
So far installed and running ok...

      Riding Spirits 2 (3GB) - Loading times non-existant. Luvly.
      Manhunt (4GB) - Ditto.
Gran Turismo Prologue (3GB) - As above.
WipEout Fusion (2GB) - The same.
Yu-Gi-Oh The Duellists of the Roses (2GB) - Smashing.
Crash Nitro Kart (3GB) - Nice

      Non working...
REZ (0.2GB) No control, so can get past the menu screen.

Going to try REZ again after seeing James' post.

That's odd - Rez works for me. Played through the first level off the hard drive.

PAL version of the game on a PAL (albeit chipped) console.

So who's found the cheapest online place to buy a 120Gigster that'll work with the HDLoader?

                  I got the Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 120Gb 7200rpm 8mb Cache ATA133 - OEM for ?61.59 delivered from ebuyer.

I think Maxtor are the brand recommended by the HDLoader people.

I got mine today. And I am disappointed to say the least.

                    Singstar doesnt work
                    Champions of Norrath doesnt work
                    Klonoa 2 has sound problems

                    Wasted money imo.

Singstar does work, just make sure you plug in the microphone USB adaptor after you get to the menu screen.

Klonoa 2 does indeed have sound problems. Just checked it on mine. Promptly deleted it too.
Rez works ok after I re-installed.
                          Mashed OK
Driv3r OK, but the game is rubbish.

Got mine setup today and have plonked WE7:Int (what else ) and VF4 Evo - on it and both work perfectly.

WE7:Int took about 15mins to copy across as it was about 3 Gigs.

                            I am soooo happy!!

Got my kit yesterday. I've installed my PAL/UK games no problem (Rez was one of them, worked a treat). Unfortunately my modchip isn't working too well with it, as it doesn't think any of my import games are "valid PS2 discs". Just a shame most of my games are imports. Not sure what my modchip is: think it's a Magic 3.

I've had no problems on my setup to far 120gb drive on a pal ps2 with messiah 2, has anyone notice the little light inside the ps2 that lights up when the drive is accessed?
