I`ve now got all golds in the schools, won most of the races in it apart from the Bloodring, so I`ve just got to do the tags etc which I`ve got about 25-50% of each. The bonus gold car makes up for not being able to mod the hustler (the car denise drives), but the apache is totally obsolete once you have the harrier anyway.

I seem to have picked up a girlfriend called Helena who I`ve never met, but am at 10% with. Is that the one who is on top of ammunation who says I`m on steroids and then punches me in the face? If so where do I find her?

And has anyone found the FBI truck yet (the armored one)?

I played GTA3 and VC for well over 400 hours each, and can see this one eating just as much and probably more as I`m on about 130 already. The city is just totally amazing. Its got all the types of terrain and location you could wish for, and each is big enough to explore rather than being the size of a small cul-de-sac. Awesome stuff.

Hmm, I'm sure you can mod Hustlers, it's just that every mod garage does different vehicles.

I just got the hydra, assuming thats the harrier and find it a bit difficult to control really. How do you get the attack heli, mission related or flying school ?

Flying school all golds gets you the harrier.

Bloodring i found dead easy, or maybe i just fluked it. I'm having a right mare with the dirt bike race in the dome though.

Yeah the dirt bike race is a beyatch. Apparently you can get the hunter by doing some helicopter race at one of the airports and then flying it back to your hangar and saving.

But really, with savegames, as much as I know what you mean, surely its a sign of a poor game when the prospect of replaying a section makes you feel like its 'down the drain'? If you're really only playing the game to get it completed, and not for the enjoyment along the way, I'd recommend playing something else.
well it is down the drain as i have to do it all over again. and some of the missions take so long, especially after trying them a couple of times. and the amount of time i spent bying all the property in san fierro and filling all my garages with modded vehicles. and also as i dont get to play a lot, i have to find the extra time to get back to where i was.

              Forgot about that. True.

My PS2 sounds a bit maxed out when I play it, and there is the occosional slowdown in game, but so far I'm like 6% in, and I've just spent a good half hour driving round the first area. The countryside is so vast!

I suppose so - its just that, if the game is really good fun, then having to replay a bit shouldn't be a chore. Unfortunately, some of the GTA missions are right pains in the backside, and its those that you never want to see again.

After unlocking the 2nd area, I still can't get over the sheer size of the map. It takes ages to drive across the countryside!

Have got to the part later in the game where you are forced to win gang territory to continue the game and feel that, for the first time, Rockstar just threw this in the pad out the game more (as if it needed more padding).

What irks me is that presumably if I won enough the territory beforehand, I wouldn't have to do it all now? Because it seems to be impossible not to knock over a cop, and then suddenly have two sets of police cars after you and suddenly you have to fight a rival gang and cops at the same time. Gah.

Once the third city (north east vegas bit) is opened up it plays like it's smaller because the highways and bridges mean you can go from city to city without bothering with the winding country roads. That bit actually bugged me when i first had to drive all over the countryside for every mission, but i won $millions at the betting shop and bought all the houses to save the hassle.

But yeah, real reason i came here is to ask if there is a 'cool stuff thread' or similar for GTA. I have all the cities now, and just want to find cool places like the strip club and that mountain with the parachute on top. The vegas city seems much harder and i can't be bothered with it right now.

And is it me or is traffic in the 3rd city much faster?

I think the traffic does seem to pick up speed. I thought it was just me noticing that.

Still really enjoying this. Got all the special collectables now and bought all the houses. Just got to finish the missions and complete the import/export bits.
