Been playing this on the X-Box over the weekend, got a few niggles though - How do you centre the camera behind your car whilst turning corners or do you have to do it manually all the time. It's hard to see and dead fiddly, to keep doing it manually and I tend to plough into on coming traffic whilst waiting for the camera to correct itself. ft:

Also changing between targets using the Black / White buttons is going to take me some time to get used to.

Why couldn't they have just left the controls from other GTA X-Box games.

The buttons in GTA DP on Xbox were good, no idea why the changed them.

Agreed - controls are a complete hash, though much closer to the PS2 original. It's a sloppier port, too - rain causes hell of slowdown, and I've had it crash on me once already. Still, not bad game.

Hold both black and white button to look behind, but I found it very fiddly.

Cheers, couldn't find this in the manual or at least didn't see it.

Loving this game at the moment, right at the beginning still, Big Smoke's Last Mission where you and him are on a Motorbike and you've got to gun down everyone, truly amazing. 8)

I'm still playing this on the PS2, struggling to get 100%.

Great game, and thank god for the jet pac. Locating tags and horse shoes would have been far more frustrating.

I think the game is glitched.

Followed two maps, two visual guides, been over all 50 horse shoe locations twice and detail... still missing one.

                    I give up. No 100%.

well, is the Xbox version the definite version to go for?

No. From what I've heard, it has problems in the graphics/control/loading areas that other versions don't suffer from.

If you can run it bug free and with a joypad connector, the PC version sounds the definitive version of San Andreas. It's a PS2 game in my opinion though - the engine was built around its architecture first and foremost, and so isn't reflective of what the PC and Xbox are capable of.

I just got the PC version and I have to say I'm very pleased with it. I haven't played the xbox or ps2 versions, but it looks and runs great on the PC. The buttons are fully customisable and the game recognizes all the buttons of the ps2 pad connected with my Magic Box.

I've got the PS2, and my mate has the XBox release. His might look really shiny, but I have a hell of a lot fewer problems shooting from vehicles. XBox has the look left/right mapped to black and white buttons, so to perform a drive-by you're steering with the left thumb, controlling speed on the triggers, looking to the right with black and firing with B all at the same time. Good luck.

drive-bys are tricky, yeah, i use the method of

Holding White looks left, A to fire
Holding black looks right, B to fire

careful thumbs can do it, but not well... usually i just run 'em over

I would think they will release a patch for the xbox version if enough eople are having significant problems with the port.

I must say that the xbox version looks alot better than the ps2 version, but the ps2 version on a decent GPU is phenomonal.
