I'm loving it. I'm about 5 or 6 levels in and other than the first level (that sucked donkey ass like in the original) I'm more than happy. Very happy. Very very happy.

Cut-scenes - sure they could be better. But they do the job fine for me - the music helps!

Single player - well its more of the same really. Some dramatic settings. Nice little twist. I've definetly noticed more AI glitches in this one but I still feel the AI is miles ahead of any other FPS I've played.

    Online - it rules!!.

Its everything I was expecting really so I couldn't be happier

I loved the first level in Halo. It was a great introduction... but I suppose this is a thread about Halo 2, so I'll say that I thought the first level on Halo 2 was poor next to the first level on Halo.

I second that. It is really good online. Really really good.

The party system takes a bit of getting used to, but it is amazing. Just had a 8 player custom slayer game and it rocked. Spent most of the evening doing Matchmaking Team Skirmish (mostly CTF or Assault).

So I finished the game just now, having started it at 11am this morning...and...

It's alright Played co-op Heroic and it took about 10 hours, but myself and mate are pretty good Halo players. There are some truely gob-smacking moments in the game, almost one for every level, and thankfully there aren't really any poor levels. Even level one, which I first thought was awful, is pretty good on a rerun.

The ending though, ugh. Nightmare situation Bungie, what the fluff were you thinking? So we gonna get downloadable single player levels or a add-on disk in the near future or what? As a huge Halo fan I'm pretty disappointed at the way the game ends. Bleh.

The LE disk does go some way to explaining it, I suppose.

By the way, what happend to the playable demo of Conker, Mech Warrier and that driving game? In a sad kind of way I was looking forward to them...

I'd like to think that Bungie had something different lined up for download content, new single player levels would certainly be cool but never likely to happen as people without Live would miss out.

I've not seen the ending yet but it seems to be the thing that most people moan about, and Bungie recently said that they wanted to move on to making a different kind of game and Halo 3 wasn't in their plans.

Surely it has to be, Xbox 2 launching without Halo seems like a bad idea.

The Arbiter is currently the ****test level of them all. It seems rather arbitrary. Why the **** am I playing as an elite? I'm THE MASTER CHIEF, not some covenant prick out to kill me and my homeworld. What the **** is that about?

I'm just constantly tempted to commit suicide in that level.

I've played a few levels on Normal and to be honest I feel that the difficulty and AI has been significantly ramped down or degraded from Halo 1. Wheres in the original firefights felt like you were fighting another person here the enemies are fodder and don't react to grenades etc. I've stuck more plasma greandes to enemies in the first few levels than I ever did in the whole game on Halo 1. Does it improve on the higher levels?

What has redeemed it is the multiplayer. Silky smooth.

I wish you could talk to everybody, not just your team, when online. And the white button thing does not work properly. And the LE is superb looking.

i saw a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge queue for this outside game as i picked up a mate to go get the very same game from the 24 hour tesco up the road... walked in "copy of this please" 'i'm not sure if we have it, just check' 5 minutes later 2 copies are put through the till and we walk out without having to stand several hours in the cold.

                              hahaha.

how many here playing on normal?

Im doing so and im loving it so far, but i really, really want to go back and play through on heroic. I also want to replay the levels because some of them were so god damn special.

i know my love for this game will increase x2 on my second run, knowing what to do, where to take cover and what to expect from the enemies. Ahh man, gotta finish it by saturday! Just so i can finally play some live!
