Just FYI, but Gamespot's Metal Gear history feature is made far more interesting by the release of Snake Eater.

I wonder what it is about Fox/ Foxhound that makes 99% of the squad defect? Probably nothing more than an excuse to have more American characters in the game, but maybe I'm just being synical.

Played MGS3 a lot more now and I've got used to the control/viewing system ok now.

I'm still pretty sure it's a technical compromise though. The inability to turn the camera around while in 3rd person and the inability to move in 1st person is pretty obviously due to technical limitations. You can just tell by the way the image breaks up sometimes when you are scanning in 1st person. Anything more taxing would be a mess and would require far blander visuals.

The mix of 1st and 3rd person is, whether compromise or not, still rather interesting and presents some unique challenges.

I'd bet the farm that they free up the camera as soon as they realistically can though.

I'll join you. I thought Manhunt was a great game that found itself on the end of a typical Rockstar backlash.

As for MGS 3... Well, I'm playing through it again and enjoying it a lot more during the early sections this time around now that I've got used to the lack of a decent radar system. The first couple of hours are still poorly paced though in terms of cutscene-to-gameplay ratio.

I notice on kiddieFAQ's that they say that Bug Spray acts as instect repellant (as you'd expect). Has anyone tried it when fighting The Pain?

There is, once you get past the virtuous mission. (Which had a sly dig at Raiden at the start when I changed the option from liking MGS 1, to MGS 2 on my second play through).

As perverse as it sounds, people really need to stick with MGS 3. Because the last five or so hours are an incredible pay-off.

It's all a stupid popularity contest. Given this rather unpopular thread (the number of pages compared to Generic Football Franchise #34,000 2005), I wouldn't be suprised to see it win nothing.

I like the idea of the stamina bar, food, curing etc, little cutscenes of snake eating the animals in the window ^_^

I've never had little cutscenes of snake eating animals and I've finished the game?!

I had one once after doing something in the cure menu and that's it.

How do I get this little clips?

I played the game tonight from the start just to see and I can't get them?

Any ideas?
