24 Hours at Nurburgring = eyes on stalks, but the reward for winning means it's well worthwhile.

What are the B spec and A spec points actually for?

Sorry for the Qs, just trying to get more knowledge on the game.

I don't think i'm going to bother with the Endurance races, they're just so bloody boring. Could you just go to B spec and set it to "Fast" or something and let it race for you?

Don't think anyone actually knows (apart from gauging your car against the opposition and rewarding you with more points)

I thought it would unlock stuff in Arcade / Time trial mode??

Just stick it on B-Spec and leave it when your out during the day or something. You can't set the mode to fast, just the speed the car drives at so it might be risky making him go fast the whole race as he'll crash/spin out more. I think...

Bah, savastore don't have stock of the GT Force wheel at the moment. Just got an email saying my order will be dispatched on the 18th at the earliest (despite the guy on the phone saying it was going to be sent yesterday.) I'd like to get into GT4 properly but I'm holding off until the wheel arrives.

Actually at x3 I think the B-spec is nearer to 2.4x so you are looking at about a 10 hour race provided you keep an eye on so that you can return it to x3 when the car pits.

As for A-spec they are pretty much a joke. Take a Dodge Ram with all the non-engine bits added. Use the ROM, Engine balance and Polishing and run the Sunday Cup. You drive away from the AI cars very easily winning comfortably. For that I got 200 A-spec points (the maximum). So much for the validity of A-spec points...

I picked up my copy today, so far so good.

Bought a Mitsubushi Lancer as my first car as it was 4wd.

How do you buy the cars from the garages, I want to buy a Renault 5 turbo but it won't let me buy it yet

The Renault 5 Turbo comes up in the relevant used lot (the oldest one). What day are you up to (it was before day 449 in the American version). You also can win it at the Tahiti Maze Special Condition event on Easy level. Tune the Lancer a bit and fit dirt tyres and that ought to do the job. You need the A license to be able to race the series though.

But what exactly are the A spec points for?

I've got a nice skyline at the moment, bought it for 8,000 and tuned it up loads, it's quick as anything. When i've got enough money i'm going to invest in a nice Subaru and tune that up for the rally events and stuff, then own the 4WD tourny.

A-spec points serve no known purpose in the game other than to say how close the racing might be.

By the way, this game is absolutely amazing on the eye.

I'm running it through S video at the moment, converted to Component into a plasma screen, and even though it's coming from S video, the quality is simply amazing.

A-Spec points change depending how powerful your car is in a specific event I've noticed.

007 - Best bet I found was to get your A-license and go do all the special events - 5000credits a race, 2 races per "cup" which nets you a new car and from one of them I got a Toyota Raid '02 - it's far too fast but is worth 250,000+ credits which sets you on your way 8)
