Back with another question! I'm in Ejiri village and can't seem to go any further. I was told to go see someone in the south of the village, which I did, but he locked himself inside his house and won't come out! The exits from the village are blocked by water...

    What next?

Time for the old spoiler tags

The reason the dancer did a runner was because theres someone kidnapping them all. There should be 1 exit in ejiri that you can leave through its just south of the mask stall. Theres 3 missing dancers if i remember correctly.

One in a tree, one in a cave on the other side of a tightrope & one on a island where there is one of those ebisumaru ballarina drill marks. (make the guy move off the ballarina mark by prodding him)

You will know if your going the right way as you will come across some see saws you need to jump over, use the touch screen to flip youself across.

When you come to the cockroaches blocking your way rub them to make them move.

Im assuming you havent gotten yae's mermaid suit yet. Its given you you by the imposter goemon gang just past the cockroaches in a deserted village

        Excellent, thanks again!

The Japanese is really bugging me now, there's so much country bumpkin speak it's causing my head to melt. I'm not great at the best of times but Goemon is making life so much harder!

Still I'm loving the game all the same, one of the best on DS for sure.

How playable/finishable is this game if you can't read any Japanese at all?

Finally got back to playing this and I'm stuck again! I'm in Funatsukiba village and don't really know what to do next. The exit to the village is blocked by a giant rock with two blue switches in front of it.

Some of the locals have mentioned something about entry to a quiz of some sort, but I never got them to say anything more. And Mr.Goemon is in a fishing boat and told me that if I press both switches together the rock will be destroyed... but how?

Ben_Nintendo - if you don't know any Japanese I would give Goemon a miss. Excellent though it undoubtedly is, it's very text heavy it's not just all story fluff either. The characters will tell you what to do and where to go. I struggle as I'm pretty crappy at Japanese and it's all very difficult to understand hillbilly talk, but without my poor skills I'd of been asking for help a lot more than I have been.

Shame as it looks like there won't be an English language release.

My advice - learn some Japanese. Seriously, it's a fun thing to do and not as difficult as you might imagine. Until you get to kanji that is, then expect your head to melt. Fortunately some games, such as Goemon, have furigana readings so even a kanji retard like me can read (if not understand) every word.

Hehe here we go again (^_^)

              Cuuuuue spoiler

To destroy the rock with 2 switches you need to have Yae's upgrade for her bazooka. When you hold in the button to charge the shot it locks onto stuff like those 2 switches. When both switches are hit at once the rock will explode.

If i remember theres a guy in the fishing village that will sell yae the upgrade, although i could be wrong its been a while since i did that bit so he could be in a different village but im pretty sure its the fishing one.

I think it also depends on how well you know the franchise...

I don't read Japanese but I finished it fairly easily, only having to ask 1 or 2 questions here on the forum.

If you don't know how the games work then you will struggle, they are adventure based.

From what I remember you get Yae's power off a Samurai type character who is sitting in an area which you use Goemons block pulling skills to access. You have to go back to him once you have completed the area accessed by hitting both switches.

Ho ho, I'm stuck again. I got past the switches as mentioned above and through Futagawa village, but it seems to be a dead end...? I can talk to the villagers and that's about it. Heading back there are two guys who were guarding a big rock, both now out of breath and unable to say anything meaningful.

Heading further back at the gates at Arai no Sekisho ('Rough Barrier') are still closed and the guard is still telling me 'Koko wa zettai ni toasan!' (I won't let you pass!).

1 of the guys was dancing in front of the rock when you first arrived yea? Switch to Ebisumaru, and in the Ballerina costume dance in front of the rock. It should then blow up and allow you through for a boss fight. After this (as I mentioned above) back to the samuria to go to the next area.

                            Hello everyone,

I post here because I am stuck in this wonderful game !
In stage 6, I found the seven orbs :

                            **spoil

                            - The guy under the water
                            - The mini-game
                            - The bamboo
                            - The Lion statue
                            - The Hotei house
                            - The door to knock
                            - The block to push

                            **end of spoil

But my question is : what am I supposed to do now ? I returned to the village and didn't get any cut scene...
                            Does somebody know ?
                            Thanks !

go back to the house in the village that you have to knock on the door to open it.

                                Nothing
I even knocked the door again, but nothing happened. I must have missed something.
By the way, is there something to do in the place to the east of the man under the water (water place marked by a !? mark) ?
                                Thanks !
