This is now back in stock at Yes Asia for the princely sum of ?10.59 + postage.

Managed to find two DVD's I wanted which took it just over the $40 free delivery mark (total of $40.47 in fact). I now have to patiently wait.

Good grief man, you weren't kidding! I thought the

      giant centipede

was imposing enough as it is, but that

ship! That MASSIVE CITY-SIZED SHIP that blocks out the entire sky!

Love the way it appears, too. And I thought the one in the first game was big. Bloody hell.
My jaw nearly hit the floor when

those fireballs fell from the sky and those giant walker things showed up.

Got me arse handed to me there, big time.
      Class game.

Anyone got any tips for how to beat the

        two giant queen ants

on level 26? Been through that level 3 times now and keep getting zapped at the end by their cheap unavoidable "wave of poison" attack thing. I'm playing as the 1P non-flying dude. Hammered about ten grenades into one of them, I'm sure, and it was still going.

The old reliable shotgun 'Governor 0' and one of the sniper rifles usually does the trick for me. I forget which one, though. Or the Gokliath DD rocket launcher might be handier still. I usually stick with the shotgun for more close-quarters combat. It's more intense that way.
If you ever beat 'em be sure to go back as Jetpack girl with the

'MONSTER' sniper rifle. It uses up nearly all your energy, but it takes down the really big creatures in one go.(other than the Godzilla creature, that is) I love using it on the giant 'War of the Worlds'-style things.

Don't forget to keep a weapon that doesn't take its' power from the jetpack and you should be fine.

got this one last week. great game!
few complaints about the graphics (many penetrations between models, 2D bonus), but considering it's a budget game the garphic is overall very good.
the gameplay really rocks. first missions are a bit too easy, but proceeding with the game you'll have to fight to complete a stage.
just another complaint: I find vehicles a bit unmanouverable and so not very useful. anyone managed to master their use?

Still ploughing my way through this one. Those night-based levels can be pretty intense at times, especially when those spiders are hopping about. All you can see are their eyes peering at you through the darkness. The graphics aren't the most detailled, but those bugs really make my skin crawl. In the first game, I remember standing atop one of the towers happliy sniping away at some ants far below. Hearing something behind me, I turned around to see this massive ant looming over me. The same thing happened with a spider in this game - the fecker jumped down in front of me, the screen filled with this image of glowing eyes, hairy legs and twitching fangs. Made me jump a few times.

Yeah the spiders are the scariest thing in CB2 - my girlfriend is semi-spider phobic in the first place, so she dosent watch me play at all.

How many weapons are there total? I think i've got about 60-70 for each character, but wondered if theres anything better to find/unlock.

The guy i mostly use the DC rocket-launcher and/or ML-R2 homing missiles and the 1500 round flamethrower for tunnels and swarms. But i'm having more problems finding stuff i like for the woman; the 4WAY gun has decent range and damage and dosent use much energy, but long range stuff and an ammo-using gun ive yet to find. I sort of swap my other slot for the lightning grenade, 5WAY-B homers, E4 plasma thrower or MONSTER. Each isnt quite there though. I suppose it makes your choice more important and varies gameplay a bit. I've unlocked more stuff after finishing normal / half way thru hard, but nothing really stands out from what im already using, and I'm dreading the later levels on Hard with her...

I'll probably only go thru once more on a harder difficulty after this time, but it is fun.

Finally got around to this last night and really enjoyed the game. Took a little while for me to figure out how to use the vehicles. How long does the game last, as I don't seem to be that far into the game percentage-wise?

Speaking of vehicles - err...how do you use them? My Japanese is non-existent and I tried all the buttons but couldn't even get into them. Am I being exceptionally thick? Please help.

SELECT gets you into a vehicle, so long as you're within the glowing blue area.

Not many of the vehicles are much use tho, with the possible exception of the tank, which packs some pretty good firepower. You kinda need two brains to drive and aim at the same time, tho.

Note the woman cant get into any vehicles. At least i couldnt, unless being thick too. Which is odd for the bike, as the pack shouldnt get in the way.

Inferno is a ball-buster, so i'm back to Hard difficulty, but its getting very tough with the spiders. Nothing else gives much probs, but they are just so fast and so damaging...

EDIT: finished Hard. Unlocked a few new weapons, i think the womans up to 110. 61.1% complete. Using the LARG-W3 and <wibble-jibberish>3 the second column from the right, 10th down. She does seem to suffer from a lack of longer range direct-fire explosive weapons with good power. The 2000 damage sniper rifle is fun too, but i usually use the <wibble>D as it only uses 14% energy.

Done a few missions on Harder and Inferno, but feeling a bit too familiar now.

I've got 100% in the game and unlocked all weapons

                            SPOILER BELOW!

When you get 100%, you unlock another difficulty level aptly titled 'IMPOSSIBLE'. What makes it so difficult is that the enemies are about as strong as they are in the INFERNO difficulty but regardless of the amount of armour you have, the mans armour defaults to 1000 for the IMPOSSIBLE missions and the womans defaults to 500

Regardless, I have done only a quarter of the missions explained in the spoiler.

This is one fun game and I have fond memories of the original which I also imported when it was first released.

Sorry to bump such an old topic...

But I've recently been getting into this, and honestly regard it as one of the very best games I've played this generation. Easily on my top 5 list of PS2 games.

Anyway... I need some help. I'm going through easy mode right now, and am having major trouble with the Mother Godzilla (stage 67?), I just can't seem to do enough damage (using the male soldier character). What advice do you guys give for defeating it?

I have about 49 weapons right now. Should I be stocking up on more first before trying these higher levels?

                              EDIT:
I heard it's having a PAL release this July. Is this true? Because seriously, it's one of the greatest games of all time. Without question. Hopefully people with PAL systems will get to enjoy it too.

It IS a fab game, ain't it? I never managed to beat the giant queen ants tho.

I read about a third in the series coming out for XB360 ... man, the number of giant critters that thing could shift would make for an amazing experience.
