I've just checked on Amazon that the expected release date (this Friday) is still on.

    FEBRUARY 2ND 2007.

    FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's only a fooking port. The useless bastards.
Ok, what's the latest now? Amazon says *this* Friday, whereas according to HMV it came out last October. My HMV order status is "On special order from suppliers", which suggests that their site is wrong in saying it's already out. I have MAXIMUM NEEDAGE for this.

Just finished this a few days back Played through the entire game in co-op, which definitely helped keep it interesting, especially when it came to strategising against the more savage fights later on in the game.

Excellent game - if it ever does make it out over here, I'd strongly recommend it to anyone whose PS2 is import-incapable.

I mailed D3's UK office this morning. They say that the game isn't currently scheduled, and if they release it, it's likely to be around September

Might just import it. I guess it can't be all that hard to play in Japanese.

D3 isn't publishing it (afaik D3 aren't publishing simple 2000 games in europe at all). Essential Games are working on the PAL version (over half a year now^^') but Amazon UK states that it will be available on April 13th.

On which difficulty did you manage to finish it?
I'm currently halfway through 'Insane' with only a couple of missions on 'Hardest' still waiting.

Especially the city sized motherships and "new walkers" are giving me a tough time on 'Hardest'.

Essential Games is D3's own budget label, I believe. I did specifically mention that some retailers have it down as this month in my mail to them but their reply was that it'd be September if they release it at all.

Ah, I see.. that doesn't sound too good.. September?
Hopefully you're wrong and it finally gets released in two days.
The release dates of all the other Essential Games titles are April 12th btw.
I guess we'll see in a few hours if they're shipped or if the release date will be pushed back again..

Yeah, I hope so. If it doesn't, I think I'll just import it. I'm guessing it's not going to be too hard to play in Japanese.

I'm sure I read somewhere that it is coming in a second wave of Essential Games titles, whenever that is.

It's a disgrace they haven't published this title here yet. IMO it's a better game than the third one.

Just normal mode for the time being... Inferno mode gave us a headache even on the first mission. Kudos for getting that far!

That really sounds bad.. so it's September then, if at all?
                      Damn! -.-

The other Essential games have been released as planned, it seems. So why aren't they releasing the game with the most hit potential first?
What business strategy is this oO ..are they stupid?
I'm so glad I bought the japanese version half a year ago (after Essential Games pushed back the release for several months).

If I had an email address for Essential Games (ha thats a laugh - THE most essential game in their catalogue isn't even released!) I'd send them some serious cuss.

I lost my save on this when my memory card died, so now it looks like I have to start all over again

May go through the first game before I get back into this though.

Does anyone know of a good mission to harvest armor upgrades? I'm really struggling on some of the inferno missions right now and need more health.

So far I've used the beach mission with the red ants, to get pickups, but that takes ages.

I think that's the same one I used to be honest. On the first game the similar leven was great for harvesting goodies on hard.

Also, I hope this isn't against the rules, but I also set up a dedicated Simple 2000 forum, so if anyone is interested, PM me for a linky.

Picked Global Defence Force up for a tenner.

What a frigging game! I don't know how or why, but I'm finding it even better than EDF3.

The graphics are knackered, and the frame-rate is shockingly bad, but it's so much FUN!

It feels like the purest videogame I've ever played...in the same vein as something like mario or Pro Evo, only more so.

And those 'mirror saucers' I just encountered are genius. There's so much fun to be had. It's just so much fun.

                                FUN.
