I'd forgotten how badly I suck at Project Gotham.

I'm loving it so far - the graphics and sound are brilliant but I'm really going to get my arse kicked on line

Of course the game looks better (specially if you know your stuff, are used to spot the differences on games etc etc). But on my tv at home, a normal one like 63cm (old Sony one, not widescreen etc) or something, you can't see well how good are the graphics. And yes, it will look almost like a Xbox game if you pass by and give a quick look to the TV.

For example, a "normal" person like parents or whatever that passed by at the moment, for them i wasn't playing Xbox 360. "that game you are testing, isn't the one you had here sometime that had the Mini and Renault Clio that i liked? (Yeah, she loves those cars lol). Good luck trying to explain that the TV bla bla is not good for the game, 360 is more powerful bla bla bla to her hehe.

The thing is, the better your TV, the better the game will look, even if it isn't HDTV. At work, on some plasmas, lcds or widescreen big tvs, the game was a real beauty already, almost like a complete different game that i saw on the tv at home. The difference in visual quality was a real jump, contrary of what happens on PS2, XBox, GC and so on when i see the games running on the same tvs. Kameo, the world almost seemed alive, full of colour and that the caracter could jump anytime from the TVs at work (even not HDTV ones) 0_o.

This new generation demands now more than ever that we have the right equipment to get most of the games sadly. I say sadly because not everyone has the money for it of course +_+

I advise you to steer clear of seeing a 360 running on a HD set then! I had exactly the same attitude but then I spent 5 minutes with a 360 on HDTV and was rushing out to buy a HDTV.

Can't fecking wait for this, just need to hear the sound of that F430 screaming around big ben !!!!! Ship it already Play god damn it SHIP IT !!!!!

Really don't agree with this whole, it will look like PGR2 if it's in standard def. There have been so many graphical advancements to this game over that of the xbox version that the difference in SD is going to be marked, if not as dramatic as that in HD. Are we saying that PGR2 running in 720p is going to look as good as PGR3 ? I'll be well equiped to judge shortly anyhow, will be running the game on a SD 4:3 Sony CRT come Friday, and then approx 10 days later on the latest 40" Sammy LCD - I'll let you know my conclusions on this then

you can always see the differences, but you will be amazed on a good TV just that ^_~ OH, and the sound on the game is really really good too, music also. When a game like PGR 3 has on his soundtrack a music by your favorite band (in my case lol), that is so well know (yep, being sarcastic here), you know something special will happen and the attention to detail is awesome in every regard. No game has Skinny Puppy on his soundtrack, not one!! at least until now.

Imagine my face, when racing in London, the game starts playing a track by SP. "WTF?? i'm not streaming stuff to the 360, what the hell??" 0_0

Now, after that, i chose to do a cone challenge on a Championship, and you get the violins, and is Mozart! freaking Mozart is playing when you are trying to pass every cone! nuts. Streaming music is cool, but PGR 3 has lots of music divided in 9 genres that denote an attention in every one. No cliches, and the person that chose the music for the game really knows his stuff.

I was so surprised and happy regarding the music that i even had to register on their forum to congratulate the person responsible lol. I hope more games follow with soundtracks like this, instead of generic stuff and counting that we will use only our music.

What do you guys think of the onlin setup of the game? It sounds like it's changed, with Online Career and Play Time Online etc.

Can you use your cars from offline in both online modes? And is Play Time basically like PGR2 was online, with a Kudos ranking etc? Career Online sounds like set races and events etc.

                  Thanks

Slap me with a wet haddock if this has already been mentioned elsewhere...

But how is the day/ night cycle implemented in this game?
I loved MSR in how it was in relation to your time zone, in that playing in the day in London, however when driving around in Tokyo it was evening, yet in San Francisco it was morning.

Are the courses set in a certain time of day regardless? a la PGR2?

From what i gather, yeah, same thing as PGR2. I miss some of those details of MSR too, including one that at the time i was amazed. When you went in a tunnel on MSR, your radio got noise and static until you came out from the tunnel. really nice detail.

Regarding online (answering the question before, or trying o_0), some things are different now. You have the playtime zone, that is more like an arcade mode, having some fun with people etc, and you have the career mode. On Career mode online you have to use cars of certain classes to pass some specific challenges for example, so yeah, they are specific challenges i guess. Sometimes reminds me of the halo 2 matchmaking but it's cool. At least forces people using others cars instead of the same and powerful ones like on PGR 2.

Regarding cars on playtime mode online, i think the host, at least, have some option to force people racing only with cars they won on the offline mode besides other stuff, but i'm not completely sure at the moment. Outside of that, on Playtime you can use most of the cars you have on the game if anyone don't implement restrictions.

On Career online you are limited to the cars the challenge ask you to use. That's part of the reason this mode counts for the trueskill system on Live.

You still have also the race against the clock mode offline, with gives the possibility again to compete against other people's times on the respective leaderboard.

Holy mother of god, could this game look any better... and the sound, my lord the sound.

Absolutely stunned by the presentation in this and it feels so ****en good driving the cars themselves... my mate is playing and some big booming classical music kicked off to start the race, hehehe, amazing.

Without doubt the most impressive game so far!!

                                Yah, Im loving this too.

Played for a few hours on Live there with friends and it was great fun! Classic PGR action in lovely HD visuals and to be honest, I think the game is actually leaps ahead of PGR2.

It just feels more right, and all the races were really close and exciting. And the Arial Atom is AMAZING now. I love that car!!!
