It is too dark. PGR3 has a similar overcast look to it in places that the original MSR suffered from. It's nothing major because it only happens in a few races.

Trouble is, I'm still using the damn composite cable that came with it, still not been able to find the HI-DEF cable yet! Mind you I just played King Kong, that is VERY VERY dark, but PGR3 (only played the London races so far) but it seems like the races are taking place just as it is starting to get dark if you know what I mean...

Is anyone able to run @ 1280x1024, 4:3? The menus are fine (letterboxed) until the racing starts then it goes into scrunched up 4:3 for me. It's pants.
Bored already - a bit fed up with all these driving test challenges.

Originally posted by HodgeAnyone else think this game is overly dark. Running it in 720P and even in day time especially on london it looks quite dark. But if you switch to in car view the game looks nice and bright, but any other view looks quite dull. It`s not my settings on the tv as every other game i`ve tried is fine. Can`t see why Bizarre have had to make the overall look so dark.

I don't think the darkness problem is anything to do with the picture output, if that was the case then the whole lap would look dark. Instead, the developers have some kind of contrast effect going on (don't know the exact terminology for it) - when the sun is behind you the track looks bright, when it's in your field of view the track looks dark. I think Bizarre just upped the brightness in the in-car view to compensate for having a windscreen between the player and the world.

Most obvious in the garage when moving inside to out.

Kameo uses HDR, but due to its context, manages to maintain a consistent (if bright) colour level at all times. PGR does look dark, even if it uses HDR to emphasis light/dark eye sensitivity.
I'm enjoying the game, but the consistent ghosting on any bit of text is a real blot on an otherwise beautiful canvas - it's worse than the other 360 games I've tried.
