While vergil is not a bad character to play as i do prefer dantes.

Found one thing when i was doing the bloody palace using the million stab i managed to neutralize the projectiles the archer creatures chucked out giving a instant stylish rating
yeah thats the beauty of crazy combos against those archers. On DMD, a full set of arrows at point blank will take more than half of Dante's health, so any attack that destroys the arrows is extremely usefull. Aside from Crazy Combos, i.e. million stab, million slash, jam session, and hyper fist, Cerberus' Windmill is useful, but the best weapon to use against them is Nevan, because of its charging attacks. Use Combo 1, hold triangle after tune-up, Combo 2, holding left and triangle, and Air Play, holding triangle in the air, and you'll almost never get hit.

For an almost permanent SSStylish rating, stand in front of at least 2 or 3 of the archers, and alternate between combos 1 and 2 and the stylish points will be endless

well, finally managed to get thru Dante Must Die with Dante, and again w/ Vergil, unlocking the Super Sparda and the Super Corrupt Vergil costumes, and I have to say, they're pretty sweet. Aside from being totally cheap, especially Vergil's outfit, they can prove to be extremely helpful in mastering DMD bosses, and some of the more challenging foes, i.e. the fallen, or the spiders, but probably more so for Dante.

For instance, jumping into a DMD level armed with Super Sparda and Royal Gaurd is amazing for practicing parries. since the majority of enemies wont even knock u down while ur transformed, and ur continously regenerating health, so u can just sit there and parry.

That's also a great strategy for mastering all the bosses with RG. U can sit there for half an hour and just parry, no potions, no loss of life, and best of all, u can get the boss down to near death, where they attack more viciously, and u can practice as long as u want, without having to worry about dying and re-starting if u miss a few parries, and other inconviences such as getting back the boss' location, cinematics and load times.

All in all, those costumes are probably the most useful thing u can get in the game, and just another one of the great additions made by Capcom to make the DMC experience that much more enjoyable

This. Needs. To. Be. Bought. NOW.

Fantastic Revoltech version of Devil May Cry 3's Dante features Kaiyodo's new revolver-joint ratcheting joint system that allows solid, realistic posing of your favourite characters! Dante measures about 12cm tall, and comes with a spare head, Rebellion, Ebony & Ivory, Nevin, a shotgun, and a custom base. The joints move beautifully; it's definitely worthy of the name action figure! Please note that figures such as this are mass produced and as a result some inconsistencies in finish and painting may occur; these are not considered manufacturer's defects. If you absolutely must have perfection, prepare to do some touch-up work on your own.

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrright... after a long wait, mixed rumours, crying myself to sleep and praying to the god of gaming, DMC3: SE is making its way to PAL land, woohoo!!

Being a DMC3 disciple this has been on my wanted list since first announced and FINALLY I am going to get to enjoy it. My order for it is in at PLAY and I am counting down the days to I am reunited with Dante and Vergil.

Hopefully there will be a few of the other old disciples picking this up then aswell so I aint in here gushin on my own, hehe, but it dont really matter, Dante is back, meaner than ever and Vergil is playable... the future is bright, the future is Blood red and carries a huge sword

One question or those who have played it already... when playing through as Vergil does the story narrative change at all (like boss fights with Vergil, etc) or is all the same? So looking forward to this!!

Well, you gotta play through the game - again - with Dante to unlock Vergil mate.

So what does a DMC3 save get you? Anything?

Not really a problem if have t play through it again with Dante... I still have that brer **** inblazoned on my brain, it aint ever leaving me... after a couple of missions it will be like we were never apart.

Of course, I am going to try things that aint unlocked yet so many times and get obliterated for it but hey, its all part of the process just need to remember to stick to the basic dance package at first.

If I remember correctly having a finished DMC3 save when you play the SE lets you access Virgil from the start, without having to finish it with Dante first.

Yoh god dam right it is... gonna be proper dripping with tales of style in a few short weeks... " I just unlocked Vergil"... "I had my first fight with Jester"... "I wiped out the final boss in under a minute without getting hit, I am amazing".

I knew my PS2 sitting doing hee haw for months wasn't a total waste.

Actually glad you have to play through with Dante again... worst thing would be neglecting him for his tart of a brother

Saurian's been pimpin this out to me for ages now. Dante is meant to be much looser in the SE - you can j-cancel off the dust cloud created when you kill fools >_< CAN NOT WAIT!!

                          Peep this:

Looking for some advice from you boys on the best way to record gameplay footage to PC, etc. Wanted to do this initially when had DMC3 spinning all sorts of smoke, but never bothered. With the SE due to hit I see no better reason to finally get the capability in place any advice welcome?

I've spent the last 2 nights hammering away at the first 6 missions in an attempt to S rank every mission. Now I've got a hankering for the SE.

I dunno why, but I lay this to rest after completing it last year. Need to give this some more love.
