Last night I thought you could only teleport using one of the weapons - just levelled up and got AirTrip(?) and its got to be the most SKANK thing in the whole DMC series. Not only can you evade with total easy (unless you unfortunetly teleport back to the same spot, which I guess is more of a timing issue) you dont even have to move Vergil around o_O
Still only getting AAASS in the Lab although I do keep adding new moves - great to see alot of Dante's Swordmaster(?) style can be bought, was missing the Stinger
Great fun.

Is SS actually an end of level rank?
Reason being, I cleared the first level with Vergil a day ago with S,S,S,S,S, and it still only gave me S rank.

Hmm, spent 9 hours total playing time playing as Vergil and just reached Level 3503 on Bloody Palace. Slowly getting there. ^^Comment

Levelled up Vergil's long range attack so there's a nice steady stream of glowing sWords available. Switched to Beowulf held down R1 and started insanely alternating button hammering between Triangle and Square - doing this as Dante with Nevan after an AirHike is my favourite thing. Anyways with Vergil the screen blows up!! And you just need to hit Circle at certain times to teleport to the next victim making sure you switch to Yamato at the end for the Hernoess as he slowly puts away his sWord!
Wish I had a video - will have to see if I can do it on my Digital Camera...Comment

I bought it to play as Vergil (obviously)...and then started again as Dante instead. Playing the game as Dante is just too good to ignore. I'm 9 hours into it now, levelled up Swordmaster fully and up to level 9. It's still the best action game ever made, IMO
Once I've finished I'll start as Vergil. Reading some of the posts on here makes him sound as good as Dante

I'm trying to pretend Dante doesn't exist at the moment - its the only way to be fair on his runt of a brother XD!! Problem is Dante gets most of his brothers moves as you play through the game and even some moves Vergil has managed to come up with himself are badly disguised Dante rip-offs. This isn't to say Vergil isn't completely HENCH in his own bitter way of course, he is so mad about living in Dante's shadow he gonna make your head hurt with three weapon switching He hates us all cos we love Dante so damn much

Vergil = insane power, and insane speed
Dark Slayer is faster than Dante's Trickster, his every move that him and Dante share, Vergil does better/stronger! DOnt believe? Stinger, Helm Breaker, Star Fall (Killer Bee) And the phantom swords compliment his Triple weapon switching soooooooo nicely. You dont even have to hold them down to get the SPiral Swords going, just mash them everywhere. I especially love the ability to shoot them in the middle of Devil Arm combos, which works out even better for me, cause I changed my Fire button to L1, so Im mashing Tri with my right thumb, and L1 with my left index = a very lethal combination. And when it comes to bosses, Vergil just crushes them, I mean literally, turns them into dust. Luv this dude. But dont get my wrong, Im not dissin Dante here, the guys the star of the game afterall, but dont both bothers balance out. Neither of them is better than the other, in terms of overall effectiveness in battle and against bosses. How it breaks down is which brother do u have more fun playing?

Once you have purchased the upgade, just hold down square. It costs 2 bubbles of DT, but u have more than enough at the beginning. Once they're spinning, u can just leave them on and run and around, it'll provide defence and offence. Or, u can target an enemy with R1, press Forward and Sq. (like a stinger), and the swords will go around the enemy, spin for 2 seconds, then all shoot inward, like Vergil boss fight on DMD. You can target an enemy and press back and sq. (like the High Time launcher) and the swords will go around u, and shoot out like a turret gun. And no, L2 switches weapons in the other direction. For example Yamatto to Beowulf with R2, Beowulf to Yamatto with L2, instead of hitting the button twice to cycle thru. Just think of the three weapons going around like a wheel, R2 -> clockwise, L2 -> counter-clockwise
The phantom swords are always there, cant be switched. As you upgrade them, they just shoot faster, and do more damage. ANd the other upgrade always you to make them spin aroundComment
