    Controls is what I mean. I haven't had the chance to attempt anything I've seen with Vergil yet but some of the things I've seen with Dante I really struggle to do. Like when trying some of the combos in the Hell Sloth vid, it was really tough moving my fingers around the pad, buffering things, holding buttons down etc. There must be a more ideal configuration for this.
    Wow, dude, you just described exactly how I felt when I saw some pro combo vids. I was honestly 80 hours in, and was blown away by moves like the Agni and Rudra Sky Dance jump cancel, using Cerberus' Swing, Jump Cancel, Swing, Jump Cancel, Swing etc. when an opponent was in the air, and using it all the way down. And Gun Slinger, buffering Artemis' Dispersion Shot while using Sword combos.
    When attempting to do some of those same techniques in practice, I too was met with frustration, especially for the Sky Dance w/ AR because I ALWAYS jumped too high!!! lol, oh the memories... anway, so thats when I began to think about how best to change the controls, for a few days too, and I came up with a radically different, but amazing configuration. The only thing is that its somewhat different when playing Vergil and Dante, but nevertheless, it allows, IMO, a player to utilize either character to their full potential. My controls are posted below, and bolded and italized the buttons which are different between Vergil and Dante.
    Command======Default=====Dante====Vergil

    Swap Guns=======L2========X====== Circle
    Devil Trigger=====L1======= L2 =======L2
    Swap Devil Arms ==R2 ======Circle===== Circle
    Lock-on =========R1======= R1======= R1
    Attack ========Triangle ====Triangle ====Triangle
    Shoot =========Square ====Square===== L1
    Jump ===========X========R2======= R2
    Style ==========Circle====== L1======== X

    Cheers man. For Dante, style has been changed to L1 to aid in Aerial Combos and jump cancelling, and to make buffering any Style commands (Artermis' dispersion shot for instance) easier. R2 has been changed to jump to help with rolling maneuvers, and aerial jump cancells. I change the swap weapon and gun commands so that they're close to their respected Attack/fire buttons.

    As you notinced, Vergil is slightly different. By changing Shoot to L1, I am able to maximize control over how the Spiral Swords are used, which works amazing well when using triangle to attack, (since I can only mash 1 button at a time with my thumb), so i can use my left hand to continously fire the swords at all times. The weapon switching has been moved around to compliment Vergil's triple weapon fighting style. Because it works life a wheel, Circle going clockwise, square going counter-clockwise, I can attack with...say Yamatto, and I know Square will yield Force Edge, and Circle Beowulf, and the buttons are still in close proximity, so I can swap either way with a slight slide of my thumb in the respected direction. Basically, the 4 buttons would look like this...
    ∆ [Attack]
    Sq. [← Swap] О [Swap →]
    X [Style]

    THe only problem with this setup is that when Buffering either Yamatto's Juggernaut Cut, or Force Edge's Round Trip, you can use Dark Slayer to move around and not lose your charge. This setup makes it hard to do this because you have to hold down triangle and push X at the bottom wth the same hand, left hand occupied w/ direction. Fortunatley, I have large hands, so I can slide my thumb in between square and circle and hit X, but whether or not that may be a problem for you or anyone else reading this for that matter, is difficult to say.

    Anyway, hope this is helpful, and trust me, if your used to the default controls, this may take some getting used to. And alternating between the characters may also be somewhat difficult as well, but believe me when I tell you that once you get the hang of it, you wont even notice the difference between characters. I can alternate between the two, swap the controls (3 buttons, takes less than 10 secs) and enter a game. And becuase Vergil's weapon changing, style, and shooting is nothing like Dante's, I dont think that alternating between the two is all that difficult, just takes some getting used to. Cheers

      here's a new vid. The leviathon boss on DMD, I know SS vids would prolly be much more exciting, but I've never been really good at beating bosses with no damage on camera. Neway, wanted to show off the meth, so enjoy.

      Edit: another vid, this one is Nevan.

      Not the greatest Vid, again no SS, and I made a few mistakes mid-battle, like rushing her lightning attacks, lol. But again, I remember what techniques I used to beat all the bosses the first time thru DMD, so just showing those off as I go thru it the 2nd time (since my data was erased). Cheers.

      More to come, including SS vids, just need to finish DMD again.

          Personally I've just been too ill lately to play such a demanding game. I haven't been able to try those configurations or anything else.

          I guess there being no PAL version did deny some people, but I agree this game doesn't get boring.

            yea man, there is so much depth to the fighting engine, the amount of combos you can do with any given set of weapons seems endless. And w/ vergil as an addition, its even better. Not to mention, mastering every single style, difficulty, boss, getting SS on each mission, geting all the unlockables...its endless.
            Still no PAL release though eh? I dont understand Capcom at all, thats a stupid move IMO

              Dante just emailed me this linky

              Fantastic Revoltech version of Devil May Cry 3's Dante features Kaiyodo's new revolver-joint ratcheting joint system that allows solid, realistic posing of your favourite characters! Dante measures about 12cm tall, and comes with a spare head, Rebellion, Ebony & Ivory, Nevin, a shotgun, and a custom base. The joints move beautifully; it's definitely worthy of the name action figure! Please note that figures such as this are mass produced and as a result some inconsistencies in finish and painting may occur; these are not considered manufacturer's defects. If you absolutely must have perfection, prepare to do some touch-up work on your own.

                    checked out IGN, there's no previews or release dates, but that would be for American release, so maybe its releasing on PC in the UK instead of a PAL PS2???

                    Ahh man, dont let my obsessed outlook scare you off, you dont have to change nothing. Just play the game, honestly, the default controls are great for beginners, (assuming you've never played original DMC3) hell, I didnt switch mine until like 90 something hours in.
                    Neway, go for it dude, its a really good game!

                            When the game first came out, I was planning on waiting for the Japanese release of the game so I could order it from PLayAsia, and I asked the same question about it, and to my understanding the in-game cinematics are only in english, but the menus and substitles can be altered to be either english or japanese, but I ended up buying a US release, which has those options too btw, so I'm not 100% about the Japanese version.

                              The Japanese version does contain dual language support for both Japanese and English (text only, being subtitles and menu descriptions) with voices being in English only.
