god im loving this game so much

My mate gave the GF a 360 over the weekend so i had time to play obli on the pc for about 20 hours solid!

Just managed to get high up in the mages guild yesterday, some superb quests there btw, and now im trying to get back into the main quest

For the first time in ages i geniunly believe that this game is one that could never end, im level 18 now and ive barely scraped the surface i feel

The whole randomness of events is making me go wow almost hourly

Was riding my horse through the back of bruma and i noticed a dude chasing a deer, I ran after him and tracked him down and he had killed the deer so i talked to him, he then gave me a quest to take out a bear that had been taking all his kills. So I then tracked down the bear with the help of an elf he told me to go find. While finding the elf I was given another quest to find a lost ring and it just happened to be over near the bears cave.

So of i set and on the way I get ambushed by necromancers who procede to blast me to bits with firebolts causing me to fall off a cliff into a river which reveals a hidden cave, into the cave i go. And i find a lost treasure being guarded by some trolls and tree spirit thingies, so i twat these up then i get to the top of the cave and emerge near the bear and go killing.

its **** like that thats makign me utterly love this game!

I keep wanting to complete the Mages guild recommendations, but I'm stuck on the one with the well.

I have the bouyancy spell, but my skill in that discipline is well below the 25 needed to cast it

how did everyone else tackle it?

On a side note, have a necklace of water-walking from a dungeon, it's pretty cool, but I've yet to find a good use for it!

i just dumped all my equipiment somewhere went in and retrieved the ring and took it back then after the events dumped the ring (its a ring of burden) and picked up my stuff

The Shrine of Nocturnal provides the unbreakable lockpick (which also has a + 40 Security )

Walk out of Layawin (sp) through the east doors, cross the bridge and follow the path north. You'll pass ruins and a little town before coming to the Shrine. All these landmarks are east of the path.

You must be a level 10 to start the quest

Well with that quest what i did

i just dumped all my equipiment somewhere went in and retrieved the ring and took it back then after the events dumped the ring (its a ring of burden) and picked up my stuff

I did exactly the same! Dumped all the stuff in the garden where the well is and made enough space for "150" then just rushed in without spells/potions and grabbed the ring and the nirnroot the other side!

a quick in and out, possible by just holding your breath? I was expecting some massive maze with a gribbly at the end. I assumed there would be a monster to account for the death of the last guy...

Yeah once you go to the Shrine walk up and press A, the shrine will babble some nonsense about an something which was stolen your job is to find it. Its pretty easy quest considering the Item. There is loads of shrines dotted about the Map but you need to be of a certain criteria to start them, this one is level 10



Barieos, if you swim you'll find what you need pretty quick the chick should have given you a scroll aswell as the key.

I have completed all the mage quests to become arch mage its quite epic i think more then most games can manage.

Also when you become arch mage

you gain a enchanted chest where it can duplicate ingriedients though does not appear to work on the nirnroot

I have bought & sold the 360 version, but caved in and picked up the PC version today. Need to give it another shot.

Does anyone know if I can use the 360USB controller on the PC version?

I think you can. If not I know they're working on a patch to get it working.

They are working on a patch. That was one of the primary reasons I held back from re-buying the PC version (that and a 100+ hour bunch of saves). The menu system is clearly designed around the 360 pad, though the fact that the loading times are supposed to be a huge leap ahead of the 360 on the PC (especially the streaming) didn't make it an easy choice when I re-bought the game today.

Yeah you can i tried this yesterday, works not too bad if you like controllers, you just need to switch the axis stuff in the controls section on obli's menu

I only found out yesterday you can hold down the Left bumper and drag bodies about the place. I found my younger brother annilating a town on easy mode before arranging all the bodies in adult themed scenario's in their underware \o/.

Needless to say i was shocked....

I guess in the dark brotherhood quests this would come handy, i always twat the mark and leave him in the street rather than dragging him away
