Stuck on one of the fighters guild quests - called The Daughter - near the end:

You have to kill a few ogres, in order to get someone's daughter to follow you back to her father. I killed three ogres outside, and the daughter was inside a cave. I went in, talked to the miserable bitch , who told me it was embarrassing and that I hadn't killed all the ogres. So, I ransacked the cave, killing lots of imps, but found no ogres. However, she won't leave the cave with me, which is what she's supposed to do. I've had another scout ouside the cave, but haven't found any more ogres.

      Any ideas?

Cheers for the help on the recharging weapons problem guys!

Sounds like the light armour given to you when you join The Dark Brotherhood

Gah - trapped in a quest bug. The cure for Vampirism quest can't be completed if you've done the main quest :/ I'd been and got all of the stuff I needed too.

Ah well, back to raiding some more tombs.

There are a number of different robes, but it does sound like the Dark Brotherhood one. Some nice stat bonus with it too

You sure it can't be done after beating the main quest, doesn't have any warnings in the strategy guide, infact it even suggests that the quest is easier if you haven't already beaten it.

            If you've lost the witch,

            try looking in her fireplace...

Nah - it's a known bug - you don't get one of the discussion items when you speak to her, so a particular item needed for the quest never gets removed from your inventory.

Ive reached Level 2!! Kinda overwhelmed by this game so far, not sure exactly how to approach it. Still cant get over how gorgeous it looks though, the colours are so rich and its all so beautifully rendered. Ive had to (again) up the brightness as yet again another 360 game seems to be extremely dark when using HDTV. Small complaint.

Could someone please help me creating a character? I just spent ages looking over guides and forums but I'm still confused as to how all this works. Basically what I want is a varied character, good in melee, good with magic who won't level 'unbalanced'. That last part about the balance I still don't quite understand, it's said that if you max only certain skills you will have problems in dungeons later in the game, could someone explain this to me?

Basically, what I want is just to be able to play the game as I want without having to worry about levelling certain skills too soon or too much.

Well, if you have something like alchemy as a major skill you will level too quickly in what is essentially a non combat skill, so you really want it as a minor skill.

What you want for major skills are ones that you will use and that will help you in combat. So for a fighter type than I'd got for blade or blunt (never both), an armour type and block (so thats three skills), getting armourer to 50 as quick as possible is very useful, so thats four.

The trick is to not have easy to increase (non-combat) skills as majors, so avoid alchemy, speechcraft etc.

Or you could go completely the other way and have hard to raise non combat skills as your major skills, and all the skills you will mainly use as minor skills so you only level when you want to

I don't think it's worth worrying about. Just create a character and get on with it.

I agree to an extent - create a character with the style of play that you prefer. Magic, choose a magic role, Thief/Assassin choose a sneak type role, if you prefer combat choose a warrior type role.

Most choices allow a character to adept to whatever style of play you prefer.

Alright thanks, now I finally understand .

About just playing, I was doing exactly that untill I read complaints from people that the game had turned unfairly difficult for them because they had leveled up in the wrong skills. I just wanted to prevent that while I was still just starting the game .

What a beast of a game, I've only just started and done about 4 hours. I'm on with the main quest and have done a couple of gates (on the third one now). It seems a bit hard to start with, even little imps can kill me from time to time. Hopefully this will become easier.

I'm really impressed so far, walking towards Imperial City for the first time from up in the mountains looks amazing, I love the way you can keep going from one horizon to the next without obtrusive loading (I don't think it is anyway). I don't know how some people here have had time to play for up to 100 hours. That's scary! I think I'll take my time with it and savour the experience rather than blast through it, I have just started GRAW as well anyway.
