I fenced 800 in on the first guy, never had to fence again !

Just break into peoples houses and into Castles. Dont wear armour and theif as much Silver and weapons as you can.

Steal things like books, clothes, jewelry and silverware from big houses. Steal the keys off people in the street and then look for their houses on the map.

My sneak is over 100 when wearing all my items!

Just done the final thieves guild quest, pretty damn cool. Took agggges but was fun! Got a few cool pieces of equipment too. Now got 40,000 in gold. Gonna start buying some more houses and horses.

I think ive been more agressive than sneaking lol i just usually run in batter the **** out the place and people then run away

I think that was the hardest mission for me so far, to be honest it was TOO long and got rather tedious...but glad I did it!

Done the arena/thieves guild and dark brotherhood in total...nearly finished the mages guild (I assume) but barely touched the fighters guild...

I have to say I think that the auto-save is pretty bad in this game, for example, I just closed a Oblivion gate, theres a sequence then long load for the next part of the game, Id expect an event like that to of autosaved but it didnt, I happened to get killed a few mins afterwards and got put back inside the blood tower once again. Id expect a auto-save after events like that tbh.

There's nothing stopping you saving yourself before you do anything.

I've found the autosave to be pretty decent - compared to many RPGs with their save points, Oblivion is miles ahead of the competition.

I dont rely on it, near the start I totally forgot and lost about 2 hours worth somehow!!

So I save like all the time now! On my 85 hour save, I'm over 300 saves I think now!! Thats like one every 20 minutes I think!

If I'm wondering about the countryside then I tend to not save at all, likewise with cities and towns as I find the auto-save to be pretty decent. Sometimes when handing in a quest I'll save before just in case it has multiple outcomes, though even then I tend to just play on.

In dungeons I'm very much a quick-saver ever enemy. It's pretty poor to be honest but somehow I've found myself playing that way! I just hate having to replay sections in games!

And yet again I'm a latecomer to a contender for GoTY. Got my LE from Boggy yesterday and am just amazed at it. Firstly, it is accessible, just in case there are any other RPG n00bs reading this. Secondly, it looks stunning. Thirdly, the loading times aren't an issue. I've seen some threads on other forums where a combination of those things are brought up as being major "issues" so just thought I'd put my thoughts down in case anyone else has been put off by these.

Anyway, I've decided to become a dark elf, I think a career as an assassin could be on the cards. However, its taken a bit of a dent as I took a nap on a barge and woke up to find it had been taken over by thieves.

One quick question as I'm still finding my way... what are my options to boost my health when I don't have any spells and eating the food that's lying around doesn't seem to do anything?

STarted doing the orrery add on last nite its a good un, dunno when its due on live for you console whores but get it !!!!

Now at 75 hours and 400 saves managed to get guild master of fighters guild now i just need the thieves guild and thats me about 80% of the game done

such a joy, i hope they bring out a full add on by the end of the year for this

Alchemy is worth levelling up. I have a dark elf assassin too and find health regen potions and poisons to be very handy. If there are no enemies around I usually just wait an hour.

Regarding the Autosave, there are options to change when it kicks in.
