Same here - I've been playing pretty much solidly since my last post and I've barely touched the main quest.

I've been far to busy exploring the towns and countryside - watching the world go by, counting the constellations and startling the wildlife

Snap. 10 hours in now - been playing solidily all day (just spent three hours in a single town chatting to people and doing a few sub-quests). Only just finished

talking to Jauffe at Weynon Priory

      .

The atmosphere's unbelievable in this game.

I have been enjoying this alot upto the point of becoming a vampire, its really getting on my nerves trying to find a way to stop it, a right hassle when all you wanna do is get on with other stuff in the game.

Oh yeah... have to highlight one of the early quests

where a painter disappears, you investigate him getting sucked into his own painting by a thief who stole his magic brush... and then you have to go into a surreal watercolour landscape to bring him back. The whole change of aesthetic and the imagination which went into that single sub-quest alone... well, the biggest compliment I can give is that the experience wasn't far off the ingeniuty shown in the Shadow Ganon boss battle at the Forest Temple, within Ocarina of Time.

Go to a church and prey, thats how you stopped it inthe old games, should still be how things work.

Btw anybody know how to use a shovel or pickaxe? I found a cool bandit hide out in the mine that had a half finished tunnel leading into a town(got some sneak boots in there to from the bandit leader), pickaxes and shovels all over it and wall looks plenty breakable but i can not equip them... anyone know if need a certain skill to use them?

I've clocked up about 7 hours on this since getting it Thursday.

I'm pretty overwhelmed by the size of the environments though! So much to see and do I just don't know where to start!

Been having fun just exploring and walking around like the rest of you and have tried to take in as much as I can.

Earlier on I stumbled across an

old abandoned mine! I went through it killing all the new inhabitants and found some nice new items, and some cash. The highlight being that I found 2 Goblin head totem staffs (something like that) that shoot lightening!

2 Good things about them being one if you kill people with one they fly back like they got a massive electric shock, and they sell for about 1200 gold each I think I'll be keeping an eye out for some more of those!

Loving this so far, just feel it could steal my life!

I have a sum total of 15 gold to my name. :P

I keep getting thrown in jail for stealing people's books I read.

Do shops have more variety and more sensible pricing

I remember in morrowind used to get items that no shop could afford to buy

Look inside the box of the game.

? The chorrol castle. Has anybody spoken to the countess about the painting investigation quest? I'm completely lost as to what clues I should be looking for. I've already found a hidden painting in the west tower, and found hidden painting supplies in Chanel's quarters, what else should I be looking for? ?

OK I'm really stuck here too now >_</
Ok the three of us got 2/3rds of the way

The final clue is downstairs in the dining room...its actually quite obvious when you see it! Check what happens to the crosshair and look out for something you can "use".

Heh, I was about to post about this quest too, was completely lost. cheers guys

                          In the same town:

Anyone know anything about the local tavern (not the shanty looking one), alot of the local peops rumors suggest something sinister is going on there, but whenever I check it out everything seems normal. Can't think what to do :S

Whats the best way to build up trust with locals? One of the missions I had back in Imperial city is on hold due to one of the locals (whos ass I had previously saved in a previous quest) not trusting me enough to tell me information.

What kind of weapons is everyone using? I just got myself a pretty neat short sword from a quest, it only does 3 damage as standard, but it has a charged damage of 5 frost on each hit \o/.

I am so poor at the moment, so far been able to add charm to my spell list (cost me 250gold), a ton of repairs to stuff, and some odd bits of armour to finish off my set. Anywhere good to buy lockpicks? I seem to run out always at the worst times, like right at the end of a dungeon at the last few treasure chests (and you just know there was some sweet stuff in them ).

Turns out you need to do a lengthy quest to cure vampire disease, not easy either.
