I'm in two minds as to whether I want to continue learning Sakurako, or start learning Mika. For me to be any good with Sakurako I need to burn through energy, while with Mika the majority of my tactics just revolve around the main and sub weapon, with different ways of using them.

I think i'll hammer practice mode and do some more training with you tonight Bleeders, and see who i'm genuinly better off learning.
Your Sakurako definitely deals damage, but a fully-fledged Mika would be devastating given the range and power of her attacks...

I'm sticking with Changpo and Fabian I think, quite like using both of those.

I went on an experiment spree last night.

Fabian's boss mode is disappointing, what with his entire form being one huge weak point and his firing patterns having a little too much space between them. However I found he makes up for this by being a close combat god.

I do however, think he had the best final boss attack of all the bosses i've seen so far.

Mika is definately starting to become my weapon of choice. He seems a bit... simple compared to Sakurako, what with the majority of my attacks consisting of a sub weapon shot to stun followed with a main weapon shot, but he burns through energy a lot less due to the fact that I only really use it to generate the close proximity bullet field barrage.

I'm sure i've yet to learn the more complex way to play him.

Very impressed with Changpo aswell, but I know next to nothing as to how to play her just yet.

Changpo for me, is the most balanced character I like to use. I'm quite fond of frame-cancelling her close quarter attack moves, since it can do quite a bit of damage. But, Fabian is a good alternative since he's kinda like the Vega/Chun Li of the game; very mobile, his attacks aren't particularly powerful, but he does keep chipping away at you.

Ernula and Karel were two characters I briefly used early on and haven't gone back to them yet, so some experimenting with those two is on the cards soon.

          Experimenting some more with Fabian.

I don't understand why he's got such a low close combat rating - He's better than Sakurako in it and hers is sky high!

Mika is winning me matches online against Japanese players. I have a new favourite Rounder.

This thread has convinced me I need the Naomi version, maybe SP when it becomes affordable

No, this thread has persuaded you to buy a JP 360 to play this game online with.

              Gogo.

This is also tempting I'd love to be able to play online but I'm finding Pal 360 gaming too handy and you're talking arcade kit money for an imported console + game anyway.

                  Oh go on.

                  Goooooo oooooooon!

By the way, Bleeders - Have you noticed in the 'Extra' menu there's an option for 'Original Story Mode'?

Can you tell what the difference is between that and normal story mode? Different stories only? Or are there gameplay elements that have been changed..

I haven't noticed any differences, although I'd wager that the original mode is based on the Arcade ver.

I give up trying to finish Ernula's story mode.

That second form of the final boss is impossible to destroy.

                        She's a ho' mate.

Concentrate on her bullet-patterns, not on her. I found her easier when I concentrated on avoiding her bullets, quietly navigating through and using sporadic fire.

                          Aye...

The first form I can destroy in about 10 - 15 seconds with very little health loss. That second form is just... argh!!

                          ...

And saying that, I just manage to destroy it!

Was thinking about the arcade version

But i would get far more use of a jap console for the same price i would guarantee there will be more japanese only games later

Any ideas on what the 5 secret achievements are?

Some seem to be time ones (1hr, 5hr, 10hr etc?).
