There's one on shmups.com forums, i've considered writing one myself for the individual characters now that i've cleared it on story mode and score attack with everyone.

Not really, best way to learn this is to get pummelled, seriously.

The Japanese online developed an art to this, you will near enough win the first round, then they unload on yo' ass.

EDIT - Do it SG, go on.

I'm still learning the quirks to all the characters. ^^

            (Lili's temporary invunerablity when engaging her <- -> -> + B move for instance.)

Mika is still getting an absolute hammering though.

            ---

I'll try dedicating the time to writing a beginner/intermediate/advanced guide tonight. Can't guarantee it won't take me a while but hopefully it should answer any questions the new players have got.

Thanks Bleeders, I read about dash cancel in one of the threads but didn't now what I was doing wrong, now I do.

@Silvergun X, any tips would be welcomed here, i'm not usually very good with these types of games so anything to make it a bit easier. Just don't go neglecting your gaming time.

              Re my getting online:

UK power supply on it's way from Microsoft.
4mb broadband service getting installed this Friday.
Just ordered 12months live gold membership, for ?34.99 on Play.com I got 12 months gold membership + 1000 gamer points, is that a good deal?

Got stuck into this earlier. This is essentially the reason I bought an Asian 360 and have to say, I think I definitely made the right decision!

I played for about 10 minutes last night to get an early impression and found it tricky.
When I started playing tonight it felt the same way but the more you play and the more you get used to it, the better it becomes.

I wouldn't say I have it 100% sussed but I'm loving it at the minute and look forward to putting in many more hours

Anyone locked the demonstration thing in the gallery yet ?

I am curious as to what it is

There's a patch out for this in the next couple days according to G.Rev's site...

...fixes the disconnecting problem with Matchmaking.

I never had any problems with that.

Make UK <--> JPN play smoother and i'll be in love.

Noo i dont have broadband so i cannot download it......hangon i cannot play online anyway so it does not matter then

Got several perfect victorys last night which i was quite happy about

And defeated the final boss with quite a bit of energy so must be getting better

What are the details for that auto barrier activating i would strike a enemy with a massive hit combo sometimes and it would not activate and other times it would just be something like 14 hit and it would activate

Dont think the smaller combo was that damaging either

                        Comment

From what I can work out, when your taking significant damage it tends to kick in, unless you activate it manually.

It's based on damage taken. If you're repeatedly hit and taking severe damage, it will automatically kick in to stop you from being combo'd infinitely.

Any tips for the end bosses guys? Beat the first one once but it has been giving me a lot of trouble - mainly it's 3rd stage.

Also, the second boss seems undamageable.

                              Any advise?

                              Comment

First boss - Learn what moves, preferably bullets, will block projectiles. You'll notice that there are periods of the third phase where you can't hit the diamond as the rotating frame around it blocks them. Wait for this to slow turn then immediately hit the diamond with bullet-destroying projectiles, then just unleash your main attack on it and keep hammering it.

It also helps if you destroy the first two forms flawlessly, it shouldn't be difficult with any character to do the first couple of forms without taking a single hit - This can make a big difference.

Second boss - The first part is the worst. Once again, same tactic as the last phase of the first boss. Now i'm absolutely crap at this myself, but the only thing you can really do is weave inside the bullet patterns, trying to destroy as many parts of it as you can, and abusing bullet destroying projectiles to make it a little bit easier.

On it's second and third firing patterns (spinning around the screen firing that barrage of large bullets, and the solid laser that stays on for about 30 seconds), don't even shoot it. Just concentrate on avoiding them.

I may try to get someone to record me defeating this boss so I can actually show how to do it with the different characters as opposed to just explain, because i'm a bit crap with words.
