Not much of a surprise as you get to the final boss after 10-15 minutes of play.

Does anyone know if the servers are region locked yet? I.E. can people with a USA copy of the game play online matches against people with a JPN copy?

Got the US version of WarTech this morning and it seems to be the exact same as Rev.X - If you select the Japanese subtitles it's identical apart from the new name/logo on the title screen.

Game recognised my JPN save file no problem and I was able to play against a few Japanese players in ranked matches. Also created a new save file incase it was related to that, but again I could play against Japanese players no problem with the fresh save file. So, it seems it is indeed cross-compatible with the Japanese version. Haven't seen anyone from the rest of the World yet though.

Haven't found any non-JP players to try Rev.X against their WarTech, but I've had it working vice versa (Me playing WarTech against JP players). I think it might only work if the subtitles are set to Japanese as I seemed to lose connection with English language selected. Not 100% sure about that though.

It could be that because it's come to the west so long after it's original JP version that bugs were fixed, network code tweaked etc. Perhaps G-Rev even fiddled with the gameplay, who knows.

Well, I want to see if this works today, so i'll set my Japanese 360 up.

I'll be interested in knowing if this is cross country compatible or not. I sold my Japanese version as it was always too laggy having to play Japanese players all the time, but if it's possible to play UK / USA peeps I'll have to re-buy it

It's beginning to click with me now and I'm learning how to control it more effectively. Some of the mechs do seem much better than others though.

Would be good to hear some detailed impressions from the folk who have picked up the US release. Am waiting on my copy which should arrive tomorow and really looking forward to putting some serious time into this.

Edit: That's VERY interesting. If you look at me on your friends list it says i'm playing WARTECH, when I have the Japanese version. Yep, they're definately one and the same!
