Long time no post!

Unfortunately I only got a little time to play it during lunch, but enough to get some training in with Mika, who seems like a general all-rounder, good enough to learn the game anyway. Haven't been able to play it online yet, because my 360 refuses to download the mandatory update! Motherfu...

A little stunned at just how to play it effectively at the moment; things in all of those YouTube videos that look so simple are a task to remember how to replicate when you're at the controls. The manual isn't very helpful, is it? Longwinded, confusing information on all of the special features. At least I've figured out dash cancelling and the linked moves from that; a god send when you're up against homing lasers and bombs, but all of my moves are just really linear dispatches, and Mika's default barrage attack is ****ing useless on offense (good for absorbing bullets, mind).

Sorry if this post is a little muddled, but that's exactly how my mind feels about the game at the moment; I just cannot get a grip on how things are supposed to function. Been studying the shumps forum thread on it for inspiration, but since I'm back at work got no opportunity to try out some of those techniques >_<

For those who've dabbled in the ranked matches, how does the ranking system work? Does it waver up and down depending on win/losses, or does it just perpetually increase?

So, how many Level 1 ranked people have you played who just say 'WTF is this?!' and put down the controller a minute into their first match? Then message you to say how crap Wartech is.

As being a fan of Senko no Ronde in Japan for more than 2 years, I'm filled with deep emotion now.
I'm interested in how they ported Japanese voice tracks and senko terms into English. Will their translation of script be good enough?

Well, one of the win quotes so far that sticks out of my mind is the Ernula's special win quote against Mika. The translation in English is "Hehehe. Vroom vroom (The sound effect the a car makes when you rev up its engine)!" but it's very obvious she's saying, "Hehehe. IIIII WIIIIIIN!" XD

How annoying is Cuilan's boss? I've done the story mode with all the characters now except for him, and it's driving me mad. I can't get anywhere with it. I've watched the video on YouTube, but I'm still utterly hopeless at it.

I'm not overly keen on the story mode bosses in general, to be honest. It's a bit like playing an SNK fighter, where you get 10 minutes of enjoyable 1-on-1 combat followed by half an hour of frustration against a final boss.

Great game in general, though. Even if I suck at it.

I would love to give this game a go but I see myself as a casual gamer and the my thinking is this game would be rock hard and after a few pathetic attempts I would realise its not for me.

But if the achievements were realistically achievable (its amazing how much them 1000 points have effected my gaming) I would be willing to give this game a chance.

I wasn't very good at this game at all (always got my arse kicked online) but I managed to get 560 points out of it from just the single player side of it, so it's not too bad at all. There were a couple of characters I didn't complete it with on single player, so I could have got just over 600 if I'd put the extra effort in.

Picked this up yesterday, seemed alright. not quite what i was expecting for some reason, but it certainly makes a change from the rest. i rattled through my first story mode only half knowing what i was doing and I'll give the multiplayer a go later. I do think the 50rrp was a silly decision by ubi though
