That would be awesome I want it now! Did you ever play the RE Outbreak games? They were enjoyable. Akward, silly inventory and crap comms, but the idea was fantastic and some of the bosses like zombie elephants in the zoo were ACE!

I didn't play them (never got online with my PS2). I heard that the pre-rendered angles, puzzle-based gameplay, linear level design, and no-voice talk counted against them though online in multiplayer.

Good to hear they weren't too bad.

I do hope Dead Rising's engine and premise are expanded on if the game sells well, because let's face it, if you're a horror fan, this is the kind of concept (and in practice implementation) we've wanted for years. Why not take it to a salivating dream level?

The thing that really spoilt the online mode in outbreak was the removal of it in the PAL version :P

Don't go there - that version was a total travesty of epic proportions. I have fond memories of the second case where an AI character decided to do nothing except running laps of the play area.

Funny for about 30 seconds, I turned it off not long after that and never went back.

I haven't even got to play the demo of DR yet, but all this talk of a possible online zombie game in the future is making me wobbly at the knees.

Managed 402 kills in the demo today. Was brutal!

Well i got to try the demo at crisp's place & it was a lot of fun.

Loved the frying pan (ssssss) hehe its just comedy sizzling their faces as they run into you.

My fave was the pies, the ultimate in zombie humiliation. The splut noise was very satisfying as i launched them towards their heads & then laughed as they proceeded to wander round blindly with a pie on. I had a little go to see how many i could get into a group shot for a photo with pies on.

Got quite a few that just missed but left them with a face full of cream looking like they just steped out of a zombie bukkake video.

My most satisfying pic of the evening was slaming a pie into a zombie so it had a face full of cream then stuffing the hand into its mouth & taking a pic. What made it more amusing there was another zombie that happened to be behind, that was looking at the pie'd zombie with a WTF expression it was priceless.

Cant wait to try the full game, The demo is great but without any of the main game missions it feels a bit empty. Maybe capcom could have given just 1 mission so there was somthing to do besides humiliating zombies.

Initially, I didn't think a whole lot of this to be honest - it seemed a lot less interactive than I was expecting, and overly easy / mindless, but the more I play it, the more I'm starting to enjoy it.

I think it's going to be really good with the final game when you actually have objectives - I've definitely been finding it more fun when I've been trying to set goals for myself - like levelling up:

Took a long time to work out how to get there, but I managed to get halfway to level 12 before the time limit ran out on that run. Speed was noticeably improved, but the zombies also seemed a bit more vicious - I found I was getting surrounded a lot quicker than at the beginning, almost like I had taken a zombait. (but then I was taking more risks trying to get high-scoring photos, so that could have been it) Anyone know if it's possible to hit level 12 in the 15 minutes you get?

Definitely going to pick this up now.

Oh, and performance has seemed good for me, with the odd frame-out/bit of tearing, but it's very infrequent, and only lasts a half-second or so. If you're using VGA, make sure you're set to 1280x720 - anything higher causes performance issues with a number of games, and generally looks worse. (the 360's scaler is crap)

1280x720 looks incredibly washed out through VGA though. It looks fine in other resolutions.

Been using the camera alot more in recent plays and started to notice little PP stickers on key features in the mall, it'll give you a % mark on how good you're aimed at it and will reward you handsomely with points....

Sorry Saints Row, Dead Rising has just stolen your sales.

Yeah, you can get bonus points for 'zombie erotica'.

Must be a "quirk" of your television - it should look the same as any other resolution colour-wise etc. (it does here)

That's what my photo was taken at, and it doesn't seem "washed out" to me.

Not until someone with a US copy tests it out on a PAL machine, and that's likely to be a couple of days after US launch.
