This is my first Single Player game experience on the 360 so I'm starting to see the positives regarding achievements - although I'm not bothered about the score you get at all. They have been a great way of showing me what is possible in the game and really help extend Dead Rising's life.

Word - so far when I check my achievements I'm happy with all the little pictures that pop up (especially the Cloning Clyde ones). Would be great to have a way of cleaning out any ****e I may collect further down the line though...
So I did the full 3 days (choosing to bail two cases before the end just cos I don't want it to end) and met the Chopper for a B ending. Unlocked
Wrestling Boots
. Anybody know if they have any value beyond looking ill?Last edited by spagmasterswift; 18-09-2006, 09:43.

RAGING!!
So I finish off the normal mode, then start overtime mode where I've got to look for
all the supplies that Frank needs for the cure to be made, I take on some bad guys with my chainsaw, easy peasy, then I get into the Seon's food shop place to get one of the supplies and like 8 guys come out of nowhere and I die, I wasn't expecting it but knew if I reloaded I could take them, And because of the stupid getting caught and tied up in the helicopter thing inbetween, I just reset the console and reloaded from where I was. But it didnt let me, I had to start a fresh Overtime Mode with none of my kills or weapons or anything from before!! I went to get the Chainsaws, NOT THERE!!!
Totally raging, now I've got to kill all these guys without the chainsaws and collect all my supplies again, I already had 3 Queen's too, which are now gone. I'm so angry, why would it do this. When the game finished I pressed Save so it should have saved my things as I wasnt starting a new game, I was continueing overtime mode. I'm still Level 35 but its a real bummer that I dont have the chainsaws anymore!
Now I've got to do it all without them, which I just know will be a struggle for me!!!!

This game should be called Dead Rinsing.I'm level 36, wonder when I get it...
I've turned it off now, is totally pissing me off, for all its goods, the game keeps ****ing you with its save system. I understand and came to terms with it at the start, but what happened now was simply cheating. It took all my weapons and kill count off me. For no reason.

I didn't like being left with no weapons tbh. Oh well.
Overtime mode was a good ending IMO. You were so close as well. It's probably possible just to run past the guards. Mind, that supermarket bit will be tricky without disembowel.
Well. Overtime mode is saved, right? My advice would be to repeatedly rescue survivors on day one of 72hr mode until you level up and get that move and then return to Overtime mode once you have it.

I keep alternating love/hate with this game, after a six-hour runthrough at the weekend I'm back to "love".
The best newbie advice I can give is:
Tool up the japanese tourists with 9mm handguns for the Adam fight. Get the Criminal Forensics book from there too, then add Entertainment and Engineering from Paradise plaza - triple booked mini chainsaws are so totally the way forward (to be honest, you probably only need criminal forensics and Engineering which both come in handy, but I like to be safe!). To get past the convicts get the uzi from Paradise plaza (jump fromthe staircase middle to the right and go along those blue shop front tops), or use the car in the carpark. After you've stuffed the convicts, give Cletus a taste of some real firearms using the HMG. Most other bosses are now insultingly trivial if you can either mini-chainsaw/katana, or shotgun/sniper them.
. Doing this made me level 20-ish by case 4 and definately seems to help everything else.
The key to escorts is definately setting waypoints ahead of you rather than trying to drag them along - that way you can rescue them and also lure off Zombies much better. Level 10-20 seems to be the point of breaking past the frustration with the game anyway for me. Also, it was the point where I was forced to abandon a few side-scoops and get the cases where I finally abandoned my obsessive "save everyone" mentality and just went for trying to have fun that helped me enjoy the game much more.

It's hilarious. I found this by accident 'cos I tooled them up in the shop and then told them to stay at a waymarker at the back: there's some OJ in the shop too in the box IIRC. They came out anyway for the fight. Adam kept trying to run though his patterns of fire, gloating, balloon, etc. and the tourists kept firing every second or so: <evil laugh> Bang! Ow!
I'm not sure, but I think that exploiting the boss AI is the whole point of the game: f'instance I had zero trouble with the following:
Carlito sniper: hide behind some palm fronds with a sniper rifle: he can't see you, but you can shoot through the fronds: instant death, no hits
Isabella: Stand on the wood to the north. She can't run you over any more. Five shotgun blasts and she's gone!
Guy in supermarket/gun in hardware store: about five swings with a katana/mini chainsaw, dead.
I dunno why I keep putting SPOILER tags, on, I'm sure I'm behind everyone elseLast edited by aureole; 18-09-2006, 16:09.

Ow!I was put off trying to bring Survivors into Boss Encounters when I tried to drag
David into the North Plaza Gun Shop. Initially I thought David was the guy who gets blown away in the Cut Scene
- which blew my mind for a minute. Then I realised I had actually just walked into a world of hurt.
Its clever the way you have to go back to the Security Room to trigger each Case File to stop you from getting a gang of Survivors together and keeping them tooled up with you the whole time. Albeit a shame...Last edited by spagmasterswift; 18-09-2006, 16:27.
