I was playing this a bit more last night, doing a few side missions and I'm really enjoying it. I keep finding myself stopping to view the beautiful sunsets I also realised last night I am able to heavy drop the speed boat, I just need to be in the water to do it (obviously!), I just figured I needed to unlock it first!

I've been playing this loads since getting it too, and I must say I am really enjoying it!

Lots of comedy moments to be had with this one, nothing like hanging on the back of a helicopter looking like you are Superman saving it from crashing

Best moment for me last night was landing my little Gyrocopter somewhere up a mountain to pick up something for a collect mission. I had to land a short run from the target as there was nowhere else to land. Landed, run to make my pickup and then ran back to find my copter had gone!

Figured that it was just to do with me moving too far away and it went out of memory (like GTA does), no problem, just heavy drop another, but it was having none of it! This usually means it's nearby.

All of a sudden I saw my Gyrocopter flying in all directions, clearly out of control - one of the locals decided to steal it and have a go, but couldn't fly it very well, cue it lurching through the air looking like it would crash at any moment!

Great game, very relaxing too just cruising around the islands!

Now this is just what PilotWings Wii (PilotWiings?) needs to be like! Having completed the main game, I'm getting lots of fun flying the Gyrocopter to collect all the items. I'm seeing large parts of the island I've need seen before. There is always something new to see. The sense of scale is breathtaking, the sunsets magnificient; the way light cuts through the clouds is sublime. It may fall apart up close, but in the air it's all marvelous.

Glad the collectables are shown on the map otherwise it would be impossible.

Thought once I'd done the main story, that would be it, but I may just end up collecting everyone - in every other game it's a chore and I never bothered (GTA). I'm also feeling strangely compelled to liberate all the provinces, though that may become boring before long.

If i love all the GTA's and saints row will i enjoy this?

Recently bought Saints row and Dead rising so another game purchase may seem unnecessary, but it seems to be calling me (especially after watching the advert on TV)

I love the idea of flying round a huge game world and this is something I miss in saints row.

I would download the demo, but my broadband is messed up at the moment (writing this from work)

Well I really liked GTA3 and Vice City but was bored half way in to the final game; Saints Row done nothing for me, played the demo only though.

It's not a million miles from those games. It's very easy, only time you die is when you kill yourself; it's a bit too quirky at times, like not being able to open your chute unless the game wants you to. However I'm having a blast, running around like a Hollywood action film, pretty much invincible in fire fights. I suspect you either "get it" or don't.

The island is huge, but very empty. By air it's a joy, but if you end up in a deep forest on foot it can take a while to get to a road to find a car.

I suspect the game development started off with this awesome tech. "Well that's cool and everything, the island looks stunning but we're never going to fill it and make it interesting from start to finish. You've got great tech mate, but why would you want an island that big if it's pretty empty?"

              "Just 'cos" 8)

Ranges from the sublime to the buggy. I hope another iteration of the engine geared for next-gen only, with a bit more OTT action and more to do, comes along as that could be the perfect game

For a first time developer its an absolute fantastic game, definately could of done with some of the rough edges buffing up a little but it's certainly a nice little title.

Glad to see some other people are enjoying it. I almost cancelled my preorder when the reviews started rolling in, but I've been positively addicted to this game. I was really liking Saint's Row but I've forgotten about it for a while.
The game definately has it's faults but it also achieves quite a lot. There is something enormously satisfying about travelling across the lanscape. I may well get bored in the non to distant future but right now its a riot.

Same here, caved in and bought it on the weekend.

I love the graphics, the skydiving, flying, and diving out of cars as they drive off a cliff and the fact that anything you see, you can go to, but the missions seem quite repetitive so far.
As mentioned before the vehicles seem a bit 'wooly' to drive as well.

I will stick with it though, as it is an enjoyable romp.

Could someone tell me some of the later vehicles that appear - are there any fast jet planes. (im sure i seen a stealth plane in previews)

I hammered this for a few hours yesterday morning and I'm still loving it. Been trying to do all the collect missions but keep getting chased out of dodge by government forces I was actually using a helicopter to island hop and it really reminded me of Pilotwings, in a relaxing kind of way. I've been giving the side missions a bit of a miss, instead concentrating more on the liberation missions, I love the ones where you have to take over the small town/cities. Just grapple up to a 'copter and missile the place until the flag appears.

Funny that Monkey cos I was playing this earlier and thinking how good Pilot Wings mechanics bolted to that engine would be - Pipe dream **** man

It's good - The graphics are lush-tastic. I was surprised how easy it is to get sidetracked into collections/races or something rather than the main tasks and ending up spending 20-30 minutes away doing something else.

Bit annoying when you get stuck in the middle of nowhere (cleavage springs to mind) but all in its a great blast - I reckon the 360 one should've been priced same as the others but that's a minor gripe.

As I mentioned before if they now rebuild this engine purely for next-gen then the next title could be very special indeed.

Yes they are - seen but not tried Cohen

I dunno about this game anymore - I was ready to frisbee the disc there. Sent on a mission to destroy some coke plantations - I arrive, get to the spot, lay a triggered explosive, retreat then find I don't have a remote trigger to detonate them.

                                WHAT THE F**K ???????

The game has too much downtime to be pissing you about like that - It could kill it for me.
